Proabably too late now (I tried to post the other day but browser crashed after typing a big post and I gave up), but...If you didnt want to stay in the expensive hotels on CP's property, there are others close by that are much cheaper. You wouldn't get the early entry, but for the price difference in hotels, you could get a
Freeway (
link 2) for TTD and MF, and pay for parking, and still come out ahead.
I believe you can get discount tickets at Tops and Meijers grocery stores. And you can email or call the park and they'll send you a getaway guide w/ coupons (yeah, too late now), but you can
download it too...
and the coupons.
Another discounts page.
BTW, if you've never ridden MF in the front seat, it's well worth the extra wait. As would be WT (and back). There are some guides online with plans on how to ride all the coasters in one day. BTW, besides TTD and MF, lines for Mantis can get long too, so if it's short in the morning, go ahead and ride it. Raptor's lines vary. If it's long, come back later (or even at night).
Yes, it's possible TTD may be down. It may be down for a couple minutes, or all day. There is no other coaster with the exact same mechanics, so they're still working out the bugs. BTW, don't complain to the park. At least they had the guts to try a one of a kind $25,000,000. coaster like this. If you have to complain, do it to the
manufacturer. For TTD ride status, see
here, which today says it 'should' be running. Though the
webcam this morning showed it not running, it looks like now maybe it's getting ready to as there's a small line and an employee in the station. It's possible when you go that it may not open until later in the day or night, but I definately wouldn't go if riding TTD is your main reason since it could be down.
