Jogger finds 25 bricks of cocaine on Galveston beach

Back in the day a light plane crashed in a lake in the Sierras carrying a load of coke. It was the dead of winter and there were reports of DEA / FBI busting people going up there with SCUBA and dry suits. Turning them around with stern warnings.

For those who suggested that he found more than 25, but only turned in 25 - then the traffickers are going to be thinking "I put 30 bricks in that bag. That f'er has 5 bags left in his apartment."

what would really suck, is if the carrier that dumped (or lost?) the bag kept a few kilos, and instead of finding the 30 original kilos, the jogger only found 25.

now the original owners or buyers are assuming the jogger has those 5 kilos....

Could get busted with possession of drugs with the intent of distribution (2.5 years or more jail term), or worst case the drug lords come knocking on your door asking for the missing coke.

Yea well assuming you have a coke party, if the secret is with one person, no one will know. or you are just dump it all, in any case getting the cops involved is probably going to cause you grief.

Why the assumption you have to move it all quickly or at once. Why not small un-noticable amounts to the local frat boys/party girls and just know that you have a small steady income stream until you make the connections for a large sale?

Personally, I wouldn't touch it, the money isn't worth the risk or I'd already be a drug dealer.

If this was a cartel shipment (don't know why it would be--they generally don't move coke onto galveston beach), then the carrier is the one in trouble. There's no real reason why the cartel would go after the jogger.

Hide it at least 3 miles from your home, take some pics and tiny sample for proof. Call that shady guy you know who married your cousin (use cheap prepaid phone if you're feeling extra nervous). Tell him his guys can have it for $100k if they bring the cash in 3 hours, otherwise you're calling five-oh anonymously so they can get it instead. Shady guy brings cash, you show him pics and sample, get cash, and give him address. Deposit $80k in credit union CD and go on vacation for two weeks in Monaco. Wash hands of the whole thing.

Edit: Oh, and burn the clothes you wore and have your vehicle professionally cleaned from top to bottom.

Until they trace it back to your CD after he snitches on you when he's caught.

A well placed phone call to any east asian gang would be all it takes to clear 8 figures. 25 keys would be very welcome in Hong Kong or mainland china. Hell, the government in china itself would probably come and pick it up themselves after handing you a check.

so your suggesting the best bet is to become a full time street level dealer until you have enough street cred to play with the big boys. Could work in theory. But it is work and being a street level dealer means getting calls all the time, all hours of the day and night.
