I'm waiting for someone to say that he should of kept it and sold it. Can you imagine inviting people over to your house to party with as much as they want and then telling them, "I got plenty, so ask everybody you know if they want to buy some."

that would be amazingly stupid.

Find some Film producer hanging out in Miami. they have the connections...

...now where the hell did I get that idea?

:hmm:

This is in Texas. Do the South Florida kingpins really have that big a reach?

Didn't read it clearly thought it was Florida. Either way the players in Texas aren't going to let you just set up shop there either. Unless you have gang or mob ties your probably have very little chance of offloading that much dope and keep your life.

it seems that the estimates you get from cops are always way the hell off.

I think they tend to take one type of quality/strain (MJ) or purity (coke/heroin) and apply to every stash they find.

lol you two seem to have a lot of knowledge about this

His story makes absolutely no sense. He's jogging on the beach, finds a 50+ lb bag laying on the beach, and decides to go ahead and lug it back home before even opening the bag/confirming what it is? 50 lbs is a bitch to carry as it is, let alone on a beach.

Pretty sure he saw it was coke, took it home in hopes of striking it rich, and then got cold feet/paranoid that the cops/drug dealers would find him.

Turning it in was the best option. Getting caught with over 5 kilos of coke makes you eligible for a minimum federal prison term of 10 years and a fine not to exceed $10,000,000.

If someone dies or is seriously injured a min of 20 years and a fine of $10m to $50m may be imposed.

There is no parole in the federal system for crimes committed after 1987. :'(

If you are designated a "drug kingpin", you are subject to the death penalty. The last drug kingpin executed by America was in 2001.

Actually the major players in Texas are very accommodating. I doubt they'd mind at all.

$675,000 per brick times 25 bricks does not equal $2,000,000... it equals nearly $17,000,000. That guy gave away a fortune. So good on him I guess...

Probably for the better. Can you imagine finding a bunch of cocaine and somehow the guy who lost it figures out you're the guy who has it? You and your entire family would be dead.

I don't know anything about cocaine, but I do know something MJ (though I've never sold any). usually, they are confiscating brown mexican brick weed, and they're saying a kilo is like $400k or something ridiculous.

I'm probably exaggerating, and it certainly depends on where you live, but I remember that stuff being ~20-30 bucks for 9 grams.

I need to spend more time on Galveston beaches then. All the seaweed, rednecks, fake ghetto thugs, and polluted water may be worth it to find some of that.

He lugged the heavy bag to his residence and slashed it open to find 25 bricks of cocaine, each weighing 1 kilogram or 2.2 pounds, bundled in plastic wrap and rubber, Heyse said.
He brought this bag home without even knowing what was in it. What if it was human remains? Honey! Look what I found!!

Gotta inflate the cost to scare people. Saying you made a $20m drug bust sounds more impressive than a $10m bust.

I would be retired. I dont want to sound like one who flaunts the laws of society but if I find "early retirement" I wouldnt be too concerned with the form it comes in. I'll take advantage of it whatever it may be, get it converted to cash as quickly and safely as possible and put my ass on a beach in the South Pacific......Permanently.

So, who else thinks he actually found 26 bricks and a friend of his is trying to discreetly move a kilo of coke?

Where does it say the guy even got arrested

I don't think we're understanding each other. All I'm saying is that I suspect his story is bullshit - meaning he damn well knew he was in possession of 50lbs of cocaine when he dragged it back home.

If he knew what he was doing, that's possession under Texas law (not that I think the cops would ever charge him). Hence the difference between innocently taking a bag and opening it at home to discover it's coke (pat on the back) and thinking you just won the lottery and dragging your haul back home to contemplate what to do with it (jail).

wholesale for a key is no where near 675k.

retail for a key can be anywhere between $12k -25k

After tap dancing on it and you can triple the volume(at least). So 75000g x $50 = $3.75 million is the real figure I come up with and it would increase from their if you were going to convert it to crack. I dont know what math they used.

Now I know who to PM if I need to get rid of some kilos that wash up on my beach.

Now here is the real question: How many years would it take for someone to consume all of that? lmao
