So, I hear Joe will release tv ads appearing with Barack Obama.
It sounds to me like even Joe has his doubts.
Pulling out the Obama factor, and so soon?
Well I guess if Joe thinks this will win him the election, then whatever.... 🙄

I have a sinking feeling we're headed into another 2004 situation where libs are absolutely certain they've got this one in the bag because... seriously... but they really don't.

Joe is going to get "swiftboated" so hard with the Hunter/Burisma thing and it will confuse the hell out of everyone, just like Kerry (but he actually served and was wounded in combat but the other guy who used his connections to join the air nat'l guard is the patriotic one???).

In the end Republicans will turn Trump's impeachment into Biden's biggest weakness and hit it till he drops.

Say what you will about the Pubs, but those guys are like political sorcerers or something.

The Right has developed a mass-psychology of in-vogue conspiracy theory propagation. They brainlessly seek to promote the wildest and most absurd stories in the hopes that their own will believe them, and they give little thought to the sieve of possibilities and the probabilities attached to each of those possibilities -- even if these latter are not easily measured and might be subjective probabilities.

But it would be only logical to suspect the motives of Putin and his minions. You can call those motives conspiracies, or you can call them strategies. And in the sieve of possibilities, it's not unreasonable to suspect that the GRU cultivated corrupt Ukrainians attached to Burisma and midwifed the placement of a naïve Hunter Biden on the company's board. Get him in; pay him excessively; let him get out; then spin the story for a future -- now current -- smear of the former Vice-President as fodder that fuels the Trumpers who want to believe anything nefarious about Democratic influentials.

The Russians had difficulties with Obama -- a testament to Obama's competence as a leader. They had a hard-on for Hillary, the vanguard of Obama policies dealing with the Russians. They don't have much in the way of difficulty with Trump. And let's face it: the evidence will eventually turn up that they "have something" on Trump. So it doesn't matter if he seems like a loose cannon -- their objective is to sow chaos anyway. Ultimately, though, they have a rein on that artillery.

There comes a time when we must admit that damage will be done no matter what, primarily because so many Americans suffer from rectal-in-ear inversion -- their asshole surgically connected to their brain so that they just continue having so many shitty thoughts about the political opposition. They enrage themselves because deep, deep down inside themselves, they cannot abide by the thought that the Democrats just may be correct or right about some things some of the time, other things all of the time, and wrong about a few things some of the time.

His dementia is on full display and getting worse by the week. Says the enthusiastic supporter of a man who spouts nonsense daily (see: his recent coronavirus junk), slurs his speech as if he'd had a stroke, and has such incredibly poor health habits that it's a surprise he didn't die of a heart attack 10 years ago. He makes Biden look sharp as a tack by comparison.

Biden definitely isn't my top pick, but you know what he brings to the table? Basic levels of competence and human compassion that aren't present now.

I actually sent him a post-Super-Tuesday note via my Senator, Kamala Harris. I tried to explain my misgivings -- in a nutshell, that I don't know what his health would be in three years. I tried to explain how seeing my Moms' slow deterioration these last three years made me wonder what I was thinking within the last decade, because I could never see it coming. So I guess I was saying to him that he couldn't know what's coming. Like the old bearded paraplegic lawman in the wheelchair says in "No Country For Old Men": "You don't know what's comin'! You try to get a tourniquet on it, and more is goin' out the door every day!"

I was thoughtful enough, however, to explain how his words earlier in the campaign during one of his better days inspired me with confidence and hope.

And I told him to offer Bloomberg a post for reforming and restoring the civil service that Trump has damaged. Then, the naysayers will know if Bloomberg was only seeking to "buy the election" for his own edification and power, or if he simply tried to be a good Jewish philanthropist who attempts to repair the world. See -- just because he's a billionaire doesn't necessarily confirm that he really only wants to serve billionaire interests . . . .

Not sure if it is my huge brain capacity that keeps me from thinking in terms of either or, or if it is just ordinary everyday common sense, but the alternatives you ping pong between seem really ridiculous to me. Oh, and that brain capacity thingi was in comparison to a lizard.

I think this is more about the primary then the general. He is trying to appeal to the Democratic race sensibilities where Sanders has less of a record, in my opinion.
 
Democrats and liberals need to stop worrying about whatever crazed conspiracy theories that Trump's nutjob lemmings come up with, and focus on just getting the vote out. I mean, seriously, why should anyone take seriously any deranged unhinged conspiracy-addled moron that still believes that Benghazi, pizzagate, her emails, etc were real?
Or who pretends to be worried about Biden's mental health while their "god-emperor" Trump word-salads bizarre paranoid nonsensical hate-filled conspiracy theories on a daily basis?

You have become too comfortable making that counter argument. You have become the Conspiracist. This is a serious flaw that will make Biden unelectable.
 
Biden's gaffes and moments of confusion are an issue for me, I won't lie. But Biden seems like he is feeling his age while running a busy schedule. Trump acts like he is in the end stages of syphilis dementia, often sounds completely detached from reality and struggles to hide it with a child's vocabulary. Biden could be in a wheelchair, hooked up to life support and speaking through a cancer kazoo and he would still get my vote over the disastrous orange treason buffoon. One of the reasons I supported Warren so much is because the woman is sharp as a tack. Set all the policy stuff aside, she's got a healthy head on her shoulders and doesn't need to outsource analysis and decision making to enablers and yes men. Her competency and desire to serve are what our institutions needed, really hope she can be involved in a future Biden admin.
 
Maybe being developmentally challenged could be a campaign advantage Showing the country and the world that the mentally challenged can win in politics and even become president. Like a revolution of the challenged.

That's part sarcasm but I want Biden or Sanders to win and Biden has a better chance with his platform being more palatable to middle America. So I'm actually wondering if his developmental challenge could work in his favor. If it doesn't then I'm giving up and resigned to another four years of a Repub administration.
 
What if Biden picks Hillary for VP, then gets removed for incompetence / mental incapacitation? lol... I jest.
