Congresswoman McSally, just more reasons to support her.

................."Exactly what that would mean for McSally became clear immediately. In a briefing right after she arrived, officers matter-of-factly laid down the rules for travel off base, even on official business: All female personnel would wear the customary head-to-toe gown, the abaya and its matching head scarf, similar to the Afghan burqa. They could not drive. They would ride in the back seat. They would be escorted by males at all times.

Officials said they had constructed the policy to keep from offending conservative Saudi leaders and to protect U.S. troops from terrorist attacks. But to McSally, the directive, with its different instructions for men and women, “abandons our American values that we all raised our right hand to die for.” "
.............
"
Last month, she sued Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, contending that the abaya policy is unconstitutional because it discriminates against women and violates their religious freedom by forcing them to adopt the garb of another faith. The suit seeks no monetary damages.

Her cause has support from an unlikely coalition of conservative Republicans and liberal feminists.

“What makes this particularly bizarre,” says Sen. Bob Smith (R-N.H.), one of five Republican senators who has pushed the Defense Department to junk the policy, “is that we are waging a war in Afghanistan to remove those abayas, and the very soldiers who are conducting that war have to cover up.”

Geezuz Cries-t tajjy!!!! I mean it! I'm moments away from putting you on ignore. I save that feature for only the most stupid.

None of which remotely qualifies her for service in the U.S. House nor the Senate.

Of the three...
McSally is a lot better than Arpaio, and Ward.

Of the six...
She is definitely better than Brittain, Diegal, Tutora...

All of them are nuts, but McSally is the lowest on the nut scale. I don't see democrats winning.

I link to an article from the Washington Post connected to the topic of Arpaio running for a senate seat and you threaten to put me on ignore? What would be the reason? Just curious.

Yes it does, it's not tough to qualify, even Ted Kennedy of Chappaquiddick fame , Al Franken the groper and Whitewater star Hillary Clinton.
"
What are the requirements to run for the Senate?
Qualifications for Senators. No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen."

You're citing minimum requirements.

Under that characteristic, I guess you could support a brain dead 50 year old on a ventilator that was born in Arkansas for the US Senate. In honesty though that guy would probably do less damage to our country than most of the GOPs current senators. I'm pretty sure Chuck Grassley has severe brain damage already to be honest.

Democrats should switch parties for the primaries just to make sure Arpaio wins his primary.

I can't think of a better gift from Trump to the Democrats. If he wasn't pardoned, he would have been locked up and unable to hand the seat to Democrats.

Tajjy, I actually want to like you. I don't even know why. I certainly don't feel that way about any other Trumpublican (that's disappointing to me, about me).

I'm suggesting I'm going to put you on ignore because though I want you to not be a conservative schmuck you repeatedly show me that you are. I used to have tolerance for conservatives but you all are so wrong and stuck and hurtful to society. Conservatism is ugly and an excuse to be ugly to fellow humans. I want to see proof you're not ugly, you won't provide. If that continues I'll just put you on ignore. Just as I have with several others. If it helps, I want you to be a better person, not progressive necessarily but more open to the possibility that this Administration and this president are no good. A dick move is a dick but no matter how many of them they perpetrate on America and Americans you see value in it and defend it. That's not just gross, you shouldn't even see it as a possibility.

I still think she would be a good choice for Senator. A capable woman who put her life on the line to protect American and allied service people, that worked and trained in honor and integrity that shouldn't be condemned for the political and social choices she makes.

He wouldn’t have been locked up long, if at all. Sadly I suspect we would still be here.

Why not? She is asking to be a political leader. She is asking to be a public/social figure or influence.

Her noxious political & social choices are why you like her. She's onboard the Trump train-

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligence...csally-will-run-for-senate-as-trump-ally.html

I'll bet she believes in trickle down economics, too.

Holy crap you have that exactly backwards. She's running for political office. Her politics and social choices reflect her political ideology.

So yes, I respect her service, but no, god no I do not want her in a leadership position in my country. She stands for exactly the opposite of what I served for as she is a sycophant to a corrupt, justice obstructing, racist pathological liar and (thankfully) incompetent tyrant.

Maybe...
“I am humbled and pleased to have earned the endorsement of Michael Reagan. I am proud to be recognized for continuing the tradition of true Reagan conservatism, and this is yet another indication that my campaign continues to gain momentum heading into the election.” — Martha McSally

Then:
''The groups said McSally "masquerades as a conservative on the campaign trail but time and time again ... has abandoned conservative principles."'

Last month, she sued Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, contending that the abaya policy is unconstitutional because it discriminates against women and violates their religious freedom by forcing them to adopt the garb of another faith. The suit seeks no monetary damages.

That is such a quintessentially American attitude. I am an American therefore I don't have to respect your culture or customs.

I am sure it is just a minority that has an issue with it. Everyone else sees it for the sensible policy that it is. Besides aren't we all friends with saudi Arabia now that they allow women to drive? Since 2017.

McSally left her integrity at the door when she entered the House. She ran as a moderate and votes as a rabid rightwing lunatic.

New development on this douche bag:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/02/poli...iews-with-anti-semitic-publication/index.html

Apraio gives interview to anti-Semitic publication then after being outed says he was "unaware" the publican was anti-Semitic.

That's actually believable. The American Free Press just looks like another right wing nutbar publication. I figure most have run anti-semitic screeds at one time or another.

I mean, the Jews are always in on the conspiracy, right?

AFP was founded by Willis Carto and is a direct descendant of the Liberty Lobby and its publication "The Spotlight." Its pedigree is hardcore neo--Nazi. Apparently neither Arpaio nor anyone on his campaign staff is familiar with Google.

I'm thinking if you're a political candidate giving an interview to a publication, the minimum vetting would be reading its wiki, dontcha think? Worse yet, maybe he did read the wiki and gave the interview anyway...

LOL! That fu*k? He knew exactly who he was giving an interview to. Just like Trump and too many of the GOP, the mind set is Do It then claim ignorance, poor memory or extend a half-hearted, meaningless apology to maybe (but who cares) appease the left but not stir up their base. It's reprehensible and absolutely their strategy.
