Called ATS - apparently I installed the chip backwards.

I guess putting the new chip in with the label in the same orientation as the old one was not the way to go. Embarrassing, but oh well. Hopefully I'll have it back soon. :D

Holy shit how did it even run at all or not catch fire? Yeah you have to line up the U or o on any kind of IC. Oh to be on ATS' end of the line during that conversation hehehe. Did anything fry or is it just as easy as flipping it around?

Oh well, better to have a definitive problem identified than to be hunting ghosts. Id rather be embarrassed for a day and have a funny story to tell than not know what is wrong with the car for a month or more :D

No idea...I looked at how the old one was installed and put the replacement in with all the lettering facing the same direction. It made sense to me..

That's weird that would even work at all... very weird. Backwards usually means 1) nothing happens, and 2) magic smoke gets released.

I had no smelly magic smoke and ATS didn't mention any damage, so hopefully I'll be all set once I get it back.

dotn worry those things happen atleast once a project :p

Oh I've had to pull the turbo at least once to fix something..dropped the tank and found a Walbro already installed...fried an oil pressure gauge after installing it in the dash...and I'm sure there's more.

Blown amp, tons of stereo wine, loose oil pressure gauge fitting that led to much disassembly of stuff... wee... :whiste:

Quick wash for some pics - detailed cleaning will come later, assuming I have the time. Before this weekend (Colt State Park @ Bristol RI Toyota meet), I still need to set the Profec, install the new oil pressure gauge, install the engine lid fans, install the fog lights, and put the interior back together.

I do think she still looks a little better than before, though. ;)

Yep here is when i was working on it. found the rear end to have a strong impact. we did a door skin to keep all the panels oem only to find that the whole right side of the car was replaced with used panels wasting 200+ on the door skin vs used door. the whole solid side molding fiacso. the fact that the expensive rocker bit you bought which we thought would have been the whole length ended up being 3ft just barely enough to do what we needed. you getting prokit springs instead of sportlines. the fact the night before CSP LAST year your car didnt wanna start cause of the stupid toyota Alarm. the Fog lights you bought didnt have the correct plug. hmm i think thats about it from when i had it and did all the bodywork. i dont think your car wanted to be fixed. she didnt have much say in the matter but look at her now!

Heh I forgot about the side molding fiasco (ordered replica JDM side moldings at a significant discount over OEM..after getting jerked around for what, months I guess, I finally ordered Toyota OEM just in time).

I'm actually glad I ended up getting ProKit springs - I'm really happy with the height of the car, and I don't have to cringe every time I look at a speed bump.

The paint should have been on long enough to be able to do a nice claying on it.

I could, but it's seen so few miles and has spent so much time in a garage that I don't think it would be of any benefit.

Sexy as hell but those are some skinny ass tires. You really think it will hook at 17 psi?

We'll find out. If they don't, I'll sell those after I move and pick up 17x9 rears and go for a 265.

Edit: Or...black2na tells me with some fender work, we could do 17x11 with a 305. Hmmmm.

HELL NO that is asking to put small scratches into the brand new paint. you really only need to do that after a few years of it being outside and being uncared for if he keeps up on the paint he shouldnt have to do that at all. mabye were the tires kick up stuff but for now a nice couple of coats of wax should do more then enough. remeber clay is to clean up imperfections you still would need to buff and wax to make it look new again

and as far as tires yeah we can make anything fit its the wonders of metal work!

Clay doesn't scratch, and it's good insurance for any rubbing work (especially polishing). Plus he can take care of any overspray that exists.

But, uh, do you really think clay scratches?
