What makes these drills unique is that they’re not taking place on a closed military training ground but in public spaces in a dozen Bavarian towns and cities — to better simulate possible real-world scenarios.

However, some local residents weren’t aware, they called the police. As police arrived, they came under fire with blank ammunition from the Bundeswehr soldiers, who mistook them for part of the exercise. The police, also unaware that a military drill was in progress, fired back.

Death by rooster spur?

In other critter fightin news, rats in Germany have been documented hunting bats. Just grabbing them right out of the air and running off with them. And not to be outdone, there are bats in Spain that eat birds. They consume them on the hoof too, no landing. They bite the wings off so they're easier to handle apparently. Like a moth. :worried:
