Ok. I’ve seen this thread for 15 years and have no idea what it is. Can someone TL;DR it?
If you haven't figured it out in 15 years, I have some bad news for you.

cool. I used to own a 1968 Skylark coup.

Making me miss my old mopars dude, i seriously miss my 1965 chrysler newport 2 door coupe with a big block 383 with a edelbrock high rpm intake manifold and carb. I hope next year to get a Dodge Demon perhaps or another duster and go for either a 360 magnum or 383 project. More into the 383 as it looks like little is removed. I could keep the power steering and only lose the brake booster depending on headers of course. 360 magnum would be more drop in and fun but nothing revs like a 383 its a special motor for sure. I miss mine so bad :(

small blocks are for A-bodies. Big blocks are for B or E bodies.

*owns a 1979 Chrysler Lebaron Sport coup.

The Darts and stuff are beast though with big blocks but yeah small blocks can be fun too and more practical and are more drop in. Hopefully that 79 is treating you well, i love mopars but i had a very nasty experience with electrical issues on both a 1974 swinger and a 1974 dart sport. I had the oddest grounding issues on the dart sport despite a brand new harness from Year one. It kept popping my front headlamps constantly. Got tired of that bullshit and traded it on a older Camry without regret. Never anything after 69 for me again.

Had some fun test driving a 76 Aspen too with a 360, had some bullshit sensor on the tranny that when the car got to operating temperature it would cause it not to click or even crank or anything till it cooled down. That and the material for the headliner managed to pull hairs out by the roots. My 66/67/ and 68 were always turn key start with zero bullshit. My 67 was so reliable, it outpaced my friends 89 civic. Then again like all the other darts besides the sport, they all had the slant 6.

My car is fun but needs a better axle and gears. For some reason Chrysler decided to put 7 1/4 axles in V8 cars. The easiest drop in is an 8 1/4. I just need the axle and it's drive shaft.

The front suspension leaves a lot to be desired. Transverse torsion bars are weird. I stiffened up the front end as much as can be done with a polyurethane sway bar kit from Energy Suspension and stiffer shocks. I also put a polyurethane transmission mount in it because the old one was rotted out and clunking.
