I'm not one to be happy over news of someone's death, but I really can't think of anything redeeming to say about his life. A man consumed by hatred of others.

Took the words right out of the my mouth. Hope he burns in hell.

Lovely. I love the caring and compassionate liberals.

LOl, that's right, you're a sensitive and compassionate little flower. There won't be one mention of Chappaquiddick.

BTW we've seen the results of Compassionate Conservatism and it's from from compassionate.

I'm not justifying anything, especially not your hypocrisy. Personally I enjoy it when pieces of shit like Helms, Kennedy or Bush gets mocked, be it in life or death. I've also never said I was compassionate and the only difference between me, you and your fellow hypocrites in this thread is that I won't pretend to be compassionate.

Nick, I don't think you understand that Helms as a bigot. He was a bad person. Just because a guy dies doesn't mean he deserves compassion. If you love dead evil men so much and are filled with compassion, why don't you spend every day of the rest of your life mourning Hitler, Saddam, etc?

I think feigned outrage should be considered trolling and grounds for ban!

I am here to point out that when members of the left establishment die those of us on the right don't run around talk about how we hope they burn in hell. It is an uniquely liberal thing to claim to be compassionate and high minded then turn around and insult people after they have died. Go dig up the Jerry Fallwell thread to see what I am talking about.

Take a listen to some of the more extreme evangelicals-especially those on the radio. Or scumbags like Ann Coulter. But I guess that would compromise your self-righteous indignation.

This thread is about Jesse Helms, not Ted Kennedy, and unlike Helms, Kennedy isn't a bigoted, hate spewing asshole who devoted his life to destroying the lives of others.

Helms was an indefensible moral turd who fully deserves to have his grave used as a public urinal. You self-styled "conservative" jackasses can't defend him or his life so the best you can manage is to try to spread the FUD around to others.

Pathetic... but typical.

We'll be sure to remind you about misdirection everytime you derail a thread talking about Bush and his Cabal of whatever you call it. Hypocrisy for the win!!!!

That would mean as a Mod I would have to ban you for feigned outrage over feigned outrage.

BTW, though a real asshole Helms does not belong in the same sentence with Hitler and Saddam. I thing Falwell was more than adequate as Helms was probably more on his level of Assholishness and Douchebaggery

Guys, you don't have to be sorry when bad people are dead. Jesse Helms was a bad person.

It's not because he wanted to lower taxes on corporations, or had a different idea for foreign policy then me. It wasn't because of his views on regulation, and it wasn't because he was a Republican.

Jesse Helms was a bad person because he was a spiteful, nasty racist and a homophobe who based his political career on appealing to the very worst in people and getting them to vote for him out of hatred and fear. Being on the left and calling for compassion for your fellow man doesn't mean that you have to exude some sort of Jesus style love for every man no matter how big of a piece of shit he was. Helms is deserving of our ridicule for making the world a worse place for his having been in it.

Maybe you could argue that he was merely the symptom of a disease, a product of his times as opposed to someone who molded it. I think at some point a person needs to take responsibility for his actions, and Helms passed that point several decades ago.

Huh? Grasping for straws are you? All I said was the lefties are acting like a bunch of idiots because someone died that they disagreed with. Where the fuck did I 'tout' my moral superiority?

Maybe you should join your pal Harvey in some reading comprehension classes.

Like I said earlier...I don't know anything about the man but judging by the responses in this thread and the FACT that not one single conservative has even given a :( or
rose.gif
, the man must not have been well liked. The only reason that the so called conservatives are in this thread is to slam the hatred of the man from the liberals...they are certainly not here to show compassion or due respects to the man himself.

That's exactly what you are doing, you think you are in the position to judge others about what they think of a horrible person who died. And you call them idiots? The real idiocy is that you act like you are above them when you are no better than them.

Speaking of reading challenged, I never said you defended Helms, but since you're obviously reading challenged, I'll repost exactly what I did say to save you the trouble of reading your own words in the above quote:

Helms was an indefensible moral turd who fully deserves to have his grave used as a public urinal. You self-styled "conservative" jackasses can't defend him or his life so the best you can manage is to try to spread the FUD around to others.

Spreading FUD is the only thing you've done in this thread. I said PJ was full of shit for what he said, and I proved it. You called me a shitbag with nothing to support it.

Then, you posted to pimp the "moral superiority" of conservatives. You said:

... you wont see conservatives on here behaving the way the liberals are towards Helms.

I already posted examples of hate-filled fundy and ultra-right cliches on the web, which you conveniently fail to acknowledge, proving your feigned superiority is a crock of shit, and you're still blowing more of the same.

Harvey, have any examples of people on this forum acting that way?

The guy is dead, that should be enough to make you happy. But instead you have to come in here and announce your hatred by wishing that he burns in hells.
Just shows how sad and pathetic many of the lefties on this board are.

I'll be happy when Kennedy is out of the Senate, but I am not going to celebrate his death.
