Could be.

Another example of this is that in the original trilogy Obi-Wan says that Yoda was his master and now we know that it was infact Qui-Gon Ginn.

Another explanation for this (sorry, I couldn't buy your explanation Nik) is that Yoda taught classes for all the young Jedi. Remember in ATOC when all the little Jedi kids were deflecting bolts? Well, Yoda was their teacher. In Empire, Ben tells Luke to go to Dagobah where "you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who taught me". The concept of master and apprentice (padawan) pairs is new to TPM and ATOC. So, I don't think this a hole or flaw in the plot.

One thing I'm curious about is what happens to the droids? I'm assuming they will get a memory wipe before being put into the service of the Rebelion or Bail Organa because they know too much.

My explanation? Did I say that they were wrong and Ias right? No. Just like everybody else in this thread, I'm tossing out ideas.

Relax buddy, I wasn't claiming that you thought you had the answers. I'm just saying that I didn't buy your explanation. My explanation is probably BS too.

I dunno why you would think Lucas owns the SW world.....it's not his intellectual brainchild, and he doesn't write the books. The movies are his, the books are the authors/ours. not knockin you, just saying I don't agree completely.

All this talk makes me want to go and reread all the SW books I've ever read before.......too bad that'd take like half a year of straight reading :) The newest sh*t is so amazing...and my friend says that the books that I'm behind on, amazing things take place in the story lines. I won't even comment on what's happened so far, but it's freaky.

Did we ever get any proof from cuda? I'm still curious as to where he was basing his "guarantee".

I am actually very curious as to where you heard about medichlorians before ep 1? I have read every star wars book out (besides desitny's way) but have neglected reading the comic books as they always seemed a bit cheesy to me.

I heard about them from Mark. :) I don't know if the emperor's death is a comic book version or a book version, but apparently it's the death that kills him - or what's left of his spirit or something like that. Damn you, Mark, for going into the Navy and throwing your stuff away or putting it in storage or taking it with you!!!! :)

The book where Leia and Luke and others actually, kill a clone emperor is the Thrawn Series. Its the final book, VERY VERY VERY good read. Infact I would have to say it is the best 3 books of ANY star wars books. Timothy Zahn is a god!

Sorry didn't get proof yet. I remember originally reading it on the SWG forums and getting proof from someone there. But I don't remember where. I haven't had a chance yet to go look either. To busy last night, but Ill try tonight.

au contraire, mon frere. He does own the intellectual property of the whole SW genre. He doesn't have to write the books, he ALLOWS the writers to write for him (his company)!

Lucas Arts owns all of this and he, in turn, is the principal shareholder of Lucas Arts.

I guess what I am trying to point out through this whole muddled thread is that Lucas (left to his own devices) cannot sustain the magic he had in episode 4. He needs fresh blood and highly creative talent to add to the magic of twenty some years ago.

But because he does own this and he can do damn whatever he wants, the continuation of the Star Wars saga will be run into the ground because of his own arrogance.
