A couple nights ago, lil rudeguy told me he was almost out of insulin. This was odd because he went through 3 vials in 3 weeks. Normally 3 vials lasts him 5-6 weeks. I connected his insulin pump to my laptop, downloaded the readings, then connected his blood sugar monitor to my laptop and downloaded that. I then went to his pump maker's website and uploaded the data. I then went to his doctor's website and sent a message to the doctor about the situation. By noon the next day I got an email back from the doctor saying they had increased his insulin RX and it had already been sent to the pharmacy.
In the past that would have been at least 2 office visits and many hours of blood sugar, carbohydrate and exercise logging. Now it was less than 5 minutes done while I was laying in bed watching TV. There is no reason why in the very near future that couldn't all have been done from a smart watch. Pump and meter send info to smart phone via app, watch interfaces with app to read data, watch sends email to doctor, watch would alert when RX is ready at pharmacy. This could literally happen tomorrow. The tech is there and ready.
The best thing about this thread is how the democrats are not capable of reading a simple article, let alone a simple quote. They also have no idea what technology already exists but feel the need to belittle people who speak of this technology.
Reality matters not to them.
