If I were Conan, I'd tell NBC "fuck you" and go to Fox. I bet they'd appreciate him more and he seems like he'd play better to their audience.
Give Jay Leno back the Tonight Show and be done with it.
Or better yet, they both walk (Leno to other shows and Conan to Fox) leaving us with...

"The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon!"

NBC would implode if that happened.Or better yet, they both walk (Leno to other shows and Conan to Fox) leaving us with...

You know Fox is making offers, but can they afford Conan w/ Max and the band plus Andy?

On a side note, can you imagine how awkward it will be for Jay to perform tomorrow night after all of this? He has to drag this on all the way through February 11 knowing that it's a dead duck -- especially if he can't get the 11:35 pm time slot.
That has to be depressing.
I agree with NFS4, Conan would be a perfect fit on Fox. but i dont think they are all that interested in having a late night talk show.
lol leno has a about a month and a half to do his dead show. he could let the writers off their leash and see what madness they can come up with.
Why is OP saying it's confirmed that Conan is getting the boot? They're just canceling Jay, anything beyond is not yet confirmed. Maybe Leno will open for Kimmel :/
NBC confirmed Leno will get back the 11:35 slot, the only uncertainly is what Conan is going to do.
And won't someone think of Carson Daly's new start time???![]()

Fox, never one to miss an opportunity to make a competitor's life more difficult, has indicated that if Conan O'Brien wants to leave NBC, it would be happy to talk.
O'Brien, who is being asked to move "The Tonight Show" from 11:35 p.m. to 12:05 a.m. to make room for Jay Leno's return to late night, has not made up his mind on whether he'll take one for the team or take a walk. Leno's moving back to late night because NBC affiliates are beyond frustrated with his 10 p.m. show and what its ratings are doing to their late local news.
conan's pretty much got 3 options:Why is OP saying it's confirmed that Conan is getting the boot? They're just canceling Jay, anything beyond is not yet confirmed. Maybe Leno will open for Kimmel :/
conan's pretty much got 3 options:
-take an hour-long show at 12 am on NBC (in which case Jay's show would only be a half hour)
-quit, do nothing for a couple years, and collect money for nothing (NBC's contract with him obligates them to pay him 20 mill/year, I think, no matter what)
-quit, go to a different network, and continue collecting money from NBC (20 million - new salary = what NBC owes him... so if he goes to Fox for $1/year, NBC will have to pay him $19,999,999 for the length of his contract with NBC)
NBC would prefer #1, obvs, but have said that they won't cock block him if he decides to go elsewhere (probably a sign that they're not scared of a competition between Jay and Conan)
Um, if Conan quits he gets nothing.

NBC would be in violation of Conan's contract by moving his time slot, thus their financial obligation to him.Um, if Conan quits he gets nothing.
