The sad part of this revelation is that the damage is already done. It's typical of the GOP hit and run strategy where they would fire up an accusation, milk it to rile up their base and when it gets debunked they walk away from it as if their claims were never made yet the stench it created lingers in the air above their base because to them any proof against the accusation is never true. The lie has become a virtual truth because it's something the GOP base really wanted to believe in.
