Melanism is dominant in jaguars. Fairly common to see a black one.

Usually there's noticeable spots on the head/neck though.

Not if both parents are dominant.

Edit: And even if only one is dominant, the spots are only noticeable in certain light/angles and distances.

Jaguars are beasts. I saw a special on them and how they love to kill crocodiles. They bite through there skulls.

I am sure that in reality the chances of killing an anaconda are more like 60/40 or 50/50.

I love exotic cats, however an anaconda is no joke to play with!

Snakes are low-energy animals. Cold blooded, only need to eat every few months, they just slowly slither around. They can be fast for a little while, but their metabolism isn't fast enough to sustain it.

The snake was too busy trying to get away and was too tired to fight at the end. I think if the snake had originally gone on the attack in the water, it might have had a better chance.

While anacondas are the only predator of jaguars, usually the initial attack must come from the anaconda when it is in the water, as it depends on drowning larger prey.
