But Bagheera is considered a Panther...even though Panthers and Leopards are technically the same thing.

Bagheera is a black panther because he has melanism (or a panther because he is from the genus Panthera), but he is scientifically classified as a leopard. Regardless, Bagheera is not a jaguar.
