so basically you aren't going to try to negotiate at all and are just going to decide whether to take the offer they gave you or not.

starting to think you are chick because you cannot talk to a point, always talking in code and beating around the busy.

Bro, you hating on my skillz?

I'm just waiting for the thread about how shitty the job is (if he actually takes it).

This.

We'll eventually see threads bitching about the low pay, long hours (gasp, maybe as many as 45 hours per week?!?!?!?) and not enough legit Lindy dance halls around town.

Bro, you hating on my skillz?

You have no skills or useful attributes other than being young and knowing how to use a computer. Young workers are preferred because they will work to death and take the mental abuse that older, more experienced folks won't stand for.

Inb4 TridenT quits because he has to work 50+ hour weeks and the boss keeps pressing him because he works too slow, misses deadlines.

What should the over/under be set at for how long he keeps the job?

Can we lindy hop to this? It is the reason for this beautiful thread.

It's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry ♪

I have not been keeping up with this thread for the past few weeks. Did TridenT finally get a job?

BWAHAHAHAHA, what am I saying....

He got an offer and is deciding if he should accept it, because..you know, they didn't offer him as much as he feels he deserves. 😎

Yeah, I'm sure TridenT is doing a thorough analysis of this offer and comparing it to the dozens of other offers he received to see which is best.

Oh, wait a minute....

I think I speak for everyone when I ask this, and anyone reading this please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the question on everyone's mind at this point is this: TridenT, what do you want to be when you grow up?

Stop being jealous. You just can't handle the sheer amount of awesomeness that TridenT radiates.

Woa woa woa, slow down there sano, let's start with whether he gets a job first. You're drunk!

Don't forget he's already criticized the company about their wording on stock options.

TridenT is a moron and he's got a shit offer from a company that isn't promised to be around more than 6 months.

Well you got to start somewhere. with his degree, top employers won't be interested... Yet. Most important from job at startup is experience and leadership that can be used to jump to a better position. With small companies you get more responsibilities too. The salary won't be great, but it is necessary compromise at this point.

I might take the job after negotiating and just look for another position concurrently. As it stands, recruiters are contacting me pretty often and I can expand my network here in the bay area. If I was doing interview prep, applying for jobs, and so forth... I don't think I'd have the time. But since I don't need to do interview prep anymore (the companies I like the most ask the least CTCI oriented tech questions) then it'd be manageable. Especially since I'm just going to try to get referred for my next position rather than apply through the resume blackhole.

Wait...you mean you might take a job below your expectations in order to build skills and experience?

I'm going to kick you in the taint!

Gratz man! Have fun with it. I've worked for very large companies and very small companies. I much prefer the small business environment and am willing to sacrifice some pay to get it.

Now go lindy hop to celebrate!
