Got an offer today. Compensation for this one was low. I'll see what negotiating can do. I'm still waiting for some of the details on the offer. (benefits and equity clarifications)

Red flags to me are not telling me % I get of the total outstanding shares and instead just saying X shares. Annoying that I even need to ask that.

Low. Closer to rossman than yours (not by much). But, hoping after negotiating that it'd be closer to yours than rossypants along with a written obligation to higher salary when the next round of funding closes. That's just salary though.

serious question - what are you using as leverage in your negotiation?

I hope you know that ~$60k in the bay area is like $30k in Phoenix.

 Yeah, good luck with that!

Got Interviews with 2 guys with masters/MBA's (with 10 years exp) and interviewed a guy with 20 years of experience already. Thanks for the advice 😉

I have no control over what these guys are paid man. That's HR.

No you're stupid for throwing away someone's resume for 10 years of experience. If you think a MBA means more than work experience, my previous quote still applies. Your MBA fella will be looking for a new position in a year, if not less.

How many years of relevant experience do you have that you can make such demands?

Fresh out of college I'd have trouble making any kind of demands and just happy to even get a job offer. That's what I like about unionized jobs though, you don't get paid based on your negotiating skills but based on the job you do and once you hit your cap you're equal to everyone else doing the same job.

I'm going to use my big balls, baby! Maintain my stance of dominance.

so basically you aren't going to try to negotiate at all and are just going to decide whether to take the offer they gave you or not.

starting to think you are chick because you cannot talk to a point, always talking in code and beating around the busy.

I think you misunderstood - I threw out a piss poor resume wth 10 years of experience and in exchange I got an MBA also with 10 years of experience and a very good resume. If I can have him for 1-2 years then that'll be great. that's the name of the game - I can't guarantee my boss I'll be around longer than 2 years either.

Anyway we got 2 solid candidates and the offer is what the offer is. We'll see soon if the number is too low.

You seem really angry for some reason.
