ITunes Vs. Winamp

I used to be a devote Winamp user, but I just got an iPOD and been using iTunes--everything sounds so much clearer and better. Is it just me or what .mp3 players do you guys use?

I use iTunes because I am running OS X. I like it, but I like winamp also. So I guess what I'm saying is, that I'm not really saying anything?

I've had my iPod for 2 days now and iTunes has already crashed 4-5 times. So yeah, I use iTunes for organizing my music, and Winamp+Shibatch+Directsound SSRC+Audigy+Altec Lansing 48s for actually listening to it.

Maybe iTunes on the mac and iTunes on the pc are two different things, or they ported it over poorly or something, because in the last year of running iTunes at least 3 - 4 hours a day I have NEVER had it crash. But I've never used it on a pc so it could be buggy a fvck for all I know.

then you are DIFFENATELY doing something wrong, i have never had itunes crash on either my mac or my pc; and i have a library of over 1300 songs (about average i guess, maybe more). i've been using iTunes+iTMS+iPod for a few years and ive been extremely pleased with all...and i think i have pretty high standards as far as audio quality goes.
i encode with EAC+LAME though; best quality/filesize ive seen yet.

Aye. I've had itunes crash on me at most 10 times in the years that I've used it.

winamp for explorer browsing....double click bleh stuff.
itunes for using the database search feature.. awesome for large collections.

iTunes all the way, i love how it keeps everything organized using the iTunes folders, sounds great, has sweet mini mode, works with my IR remote, and seemless intergration with my iPod.....oh btw the store is cool too 🙂

I am running OS X too, on a 400mhz Powermac G4 and a 1GHz emac. iTunes has never crashed on either one.

itunes has better labeling abilities--I use them both, winamp for video and random audio playing, and itunes for my whole MP3 library (easier to organize in a larger format like iTunes IMO).

Nothing has changed in your system, it's those iPod ads playing tricks w/ your mind.

Try Foobar2K w/ Chaintech AV-710 playing FLAC music if you want to hear a difference.

Apple lossless + itunes has been fine for me.

iTunes is great. It had a few bugs when it was first released, but the lastest versions are rock solid. WinAmp is good, but I like iTunes a lot more. It's sleek, simple, sexy, and works great with my iPod.
