We're coming up on December soon, so it's time to have another one of our annual Bitcoin price prediction threads.

We didn't do one of these last year, but Arcadio won it in 2019. He won 100 Coolcoin... which he can't really spend on anything. I'll try making the prize better this year.

Since Ethereum is popular now, I guess that we should add a price prediction for that one as well.

Bitcoin had a really good year this year (so far), and has basically doubled from the $29,000 it was at on January 1st last year. That said, it's been volatile this year with huge price swings both up and down along the way.

Ethereum has done even better, and has gone up from $730 on January 1st to over $4,000 now. It seems to be having "growing pains", though, and it's transaction fees are through the roof at the moment. Will they be able to fix this, or will people get frustrated and go to a different crypto?

So, where do you think Bitcoin and Ethereum will end up at by the end of next year (December 31st 2022)? The person who's prediction is the closest without going over (Price Is Right rules) will win 10 Dogecoin from me. Who knows, they might be actually worth something by then! Just to be fair, I'll be using the price quotes from Coinbase as prices can differ slightly between the various exchanges.

You have until December 20th to make your predictions. Good luck!

I think that I'm going to go $64,999 for Bitcoin, and $6,999 for Ethereum.

They both had a big year this year, so next year's growth will probably be a bit more subdued.

Solid bidding strategy... anyone who watches Price Is Right knows that the dude who bids a dollar often wins if everyone else goes over :)

"one dollar, bob!"

I'm going to assume that there will NOT any substantial changes in float for bitcoin. Right now that's only about 19M. Thats total float in BTCs. And I have my doubts about that number (from coin market cap site)

I'm also assuming no forks of any kind any new DIRECT uses for BTC

I think by next year's end, it will be in the mid-40's 4x thousand) and on macroscopic down trend.

I want to say, BTC hitting $138,000, and ETH hitting just below $20,000.

That's ignoring any restrictive regulations that might get passed in USA regarding crypto.

Care to pick a more exact number, so I can get you in the contest? $45,000, perhaps?

I'm still waiting on Ponyo's prediction. He usually seems to have an opinion on things like this.

Remember, you can change your Bitcoin price predictions until midnight on December 20th. After last night's crypto price collapse, you might want to consider it :)
