I got a p4 3.0e (yeah, prescott I know), and it's idling between 48 to 52C, and at load it's nearly 60-62C.
I have a Zalman 7700AlCu installed on there, with some Arctic Silver Ceramique that I installed a few months ago (Both the HSF and the paste ).
In the winter, sure, it idled at 42-45 and loaded at 60's.
Strange part is, I popped open the side of the case, put my room fan (BIG fan) right next to the side as an intake.... and what the hell? My CPU st arted idling at 60C, but as soon as I put the side back on and closed it, my CPU started idling in the high 40's.
Any tips on what to do?
