Where I'm at in missouri we are under a blizzard watch for tomorrow into Wednesday. They updated the snowfall amount from 4-8 inches to 10-15 this morning. So with that in mind we'll probably get 2 inches

<== Southern Arizona

I hiked to snow today. It was left over from a storm last week, hiding in a north facing ravine.

No snow here in SW MI. Its kind of sad.

First time I can ever remember not having a white Christmas. Seems about right though...this year just does not seem like Christmas

You can have all our snow.

I'm sick and tired of shoveling every second day.

No snow here but we normally only get snow a few times a year, and never on Christmas. Luckily I am going to my folks place for New Years who are on the other side of the state, the side with real seasons! They have and will likely keep their snow for the next few months.

It snowed in Northern Florida in 1989, I remember, I was there.

Central and Southern Florida didn't get snow but it was cold enough that by the time I got to Orlando, I still had snow on my car.

Snow is still falling, hope it dumps and buries everything so I can do it all over again very soon.

No, it really is. The low tonight will be 48 degrees. Water freezes at 32 degrees and the coldest it has ever been here as long as I've lived here is 32 degrees but it only gets that cold when it is clear. It never gets that cold here when it rains.
I lived in SD with no car for 3 years and had frost on my motorcycle at least twice.

That said, it does not have to be 32 degrees to snow. It freezes where it's colder and falls. I've even heard some people say that it is better for snow's chances that it be a little above freezing at ground level.

When I visited San Diego in December 1998 I had huge flakes of snow land on my shirt while playing Tetris DX outside at my grandmother's place. I'm not sure what part of San Diego she was in at the time but it might have been Carlsbad or La Mesa instead of San Diego proper.

It's already white out. It was snowing at a pretty decent rate while I was enjoying a small bonfire/campfire earlier. Got about 1/2" to 1" accumulation. Expecting 12" or more on Wednesday into Thursday.

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but as you go up through the air column, toward the clouds, it gets colder. Just because it's 40 on the ground, doesn't mean that snow can't form. And, it's VERY possible for snow to occur (and for snow to accumulate, at least for a little while) when the temperatures at ground level are above freezing.

Lifelong Floridian here. I'm 35 and have still never seen snow. Well, actually I think I've seen it falling here twice (flurries), but it was so light that it didn't even accumulate on anything.

you're 35 and have never been on a vacation or business trip somewhere with snow?

That's what I'm saying. All my vacations as a kid were during the summer, so it wasn't snow time. I was up near Boston about 4 years ago, it was cold, in the 40's during the day, but no snow fell; I think that was in March (or maybe May?). I've never had a job that required me to travel at random times (or any time, really). I've been to southern California twice, Georgia multiple times, North Carolina a few times, Kentucky once, etc., but never at the right time, apparently. I was up in Niagara Falls and Toronto last August, but again, wrong time of year. I've seen snow on top of mountains in the distance, but I didn't get to actually play in it.
