it's not proper to take a 5 year old girl into the liquor store is it?

I don't see a problem with it.

You don't child proof the world, you world proof your child.

My dad always brought us in with him. He needed help carrying it all out... This got him into trouble when we were in Missouri on vacation tho. We stopped at a gas station and to pick up some beer and he picked out what he wanted and handed it to us to carry to the register. Well a cop happened to be in the store and threatened to charge my dad with some fine or another. Apparently it is illegal for children to even hold alcohol in that state. He let us off because we were from out of state( Illinois ).

just bc you hate yourself for being in there doesn't mean its an evil place

demonizing something just makes it more alluring for kids

if you wanted her number just ask.

I'm fairly certain it is in PA... I remember during that hellish year of college when I was 20 but all my friends were 21, I had to wait right next to the door while my friends bought liquor for me.

Hmm, guess it varies by state.

That probably has less to do with the law and more to do with covering their asses.

For me it would depend on the store.
If it is a clean store with good management I wouldn't have a problem taking a 5 year old inside.
If its a place where people are lingering in the streets , consuming, or frequented by crack head types, then definitely not.

I've lived and visited different states over the years and seems most states, even counties/cities have different rules or laws when it comes to liquor.

In Connecticut, I couldn't purchase alcohol because i didn't have a Conneticut driver's license. In Dallas, TX, they had dry counties where you couldn't even buy alcohol. If i remember correctly, in Sherman, TX, I had to "purchase" a drinking license/permit to even purchase alcohol in a Chili's restaurant. In Georgia, I was driving through and spent a sunday night at a hotel and the liquor store didn't sell alcohol on Sunday's. The guy even commented to us, "This is the Bible Belt, son".

I'm from PA where it's ILLEGAL, and no liquor store cares about parents bringing in their children...regardless of other people being in the van, the parent was actually being more responsible by keeping the child with them.
