Did you see the website issues? That's just the tip of the iceberg. Obama felt it necessary to delay the business mandate and there are a hell of a lot less businesses with 50+ uninsured employees than the 48 million uninsured Americans. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Lol! So a year long delay would be used to fix temporary website issues? And republucans knew this even before the site went live!

How about you be a big boy and answer the questions like an adult, spare us the bullshit.

Well, technically CMS/CCIIO said the employer mandate delay was to fix data transfer issues...

There are just around 500K businesses that fall into that category of 50 or more employees and a much smaller number than that who don't offer insurance to their employees. Obamacare wasn't ready for that but we are ready for the 50 Million invdividuals that are uninsured? Not ready for less than 500K but ready for 50 million. Answer that one big boy.

Do you think they are both the same and are handled similarly? No they aren't, one has nothing to do with the other.

Yes, hence the reason that part of the implementation was delayed. You know this, I know this, he doesn't, which is why a delay of the individual mandate doesn't make sense, he thinks it's a matter of volume when it isn't.

I'll ask the question again in a more deliberate way as you obviously didn't understand what I was referring to the first time...If the "doughnut hole" was fixed so well by Obama in 2010 why are so many people still falling into it?

Lol! I guess disengenuous it is!

Did they make the existing law better or did they not? Because they didn't fix it 100% doesn't mean that wasn't their goal/focus and it certainly doesn't make them hypocrites.

Oh, so the data transfers for a much smaller group needed fixing but the data transfers for the larger group will be fine. Got it.

I actually got through and created an account earlier this morning. Got my confirmation email and click the confirmation link. All was good... That is as far as I could get. Now, when I go to log in it says my user account does not exist... Maybe later tonight I will actually be able to log in.

Uh what data transfer? Do you think that corporations are providing similar data as individuals? Do you think corporations are using a "corporate" version of the healthcare.gov website?

I will tell you because you don't know even though you pretend to. Data transfer for corporations has to do with A) understanding the law and B) making sure they comply with it. It's not the same thing as signing up for insurance or comparing plans.

A simply google search would have given you the answer but we know why you didn't bother.

Bullshit. I thought it had to do with data transfers. "employers need more time and clarification of the rules of the road before implementing the employer mandate" But of course you will gobble up anything Obama says.

It was an awesome fix! Good job Team Obama! It really worked out swell! /s

Anyway, I can now plainly see that you flat out just don't get the reason why I'm calling Democrats hypocrites over Medicare Part D. Let me explain.

Two of the biggest objections Democrats had to Medicare Part D was that it didn't allow reimporting of drugs into the country (as other countries were getting better deals) and it didn't allow direct drug price negotiations with Big Pharmacy allowing us to use our buying leverage to help assure lower costs (rebates). Dems bitched and moaned for years and years about these issues among others.

Then we find out that Obama was trying to cut this ugly backroom deal with Big Pharma ---> http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/13/internal-memo-confirms-bi_n_258285.html

This is the hypocrisy I'm alluding to. Democrats complained for years about Medicare Part D; however, when they got control of the Executive and Legislative branches they did NOTHING to address the very issues they incessantly whined about when Bush was in the White House. In fact, we come to find out that Obama was going around everyone's backs and was caught negotiating a deal with Big Pharma that would actually continue these previously 'highly objectional' practices. Read the above link and weep through your tears of disillusionment...if that were only possible.

Ticketmaster has been doing online sales for 15+ years. Have you ever tried to get tickets the moment they go on sale? That is what it is like when there are only thousands... Try 50 million now.

You people are so desperate... it is pathetic. Seriously... you are making fools out of yourself. The website is being hammered by millions of people.. therefore healthcare for all should be skipped... we need to continue to let people go bankrupt and use the ER as their primary doctor all while refusing to cover people/drop them for "pre-existing conditions"!

I had problems with online banking at BoA, let's delay Bank of America.
had problems with AT&T's website last week, let's shut them down too.

The worst thing about the great american dream is the health issuance without which you would be doomed as you would have no hope to survive in such a condition.

Health insurance was supposed to be a good concept but in reality it have created more problems than it solved. The price of basic healthcare have gone so high that death is the only option without insurance. Companies only motive is to make profit and that set.

Here, in india we don't really look at health insurance as a necessity. Even though insurance companies really try hard to sell them to us.
The cost of good health care is low. And we only use heath insurance for big things only(if applicable). And even if you do get some chronic disease it doesnt mean that all is over without insurance.

If you would do the math here then you would know that the money that you would save on the premiums and invest them elsewhere in bonds or deposits etc. Even then you would be in a better position to take care of yourself if needed.

These are the primary reasons that health tourism have rised exponentially in india in the past few years.

Here if you have a problem in the ankle the doctor won't ask you to also get a MRI or CAT scan along with sonography etc. The state of affairs in US is simply disturbing.

I can't imagine myself spending 1000's of $ for something that would not require more than 70-80$ at max. That really doesnt do any good for anybody except the insurance companies.

We here in india are lucky to not get into the vicious circle of these insurance companies. These companies have made a slave out of american people. You work for them and you own a part/complete life to them only.

This is a large part of the problem. The average American and our paid propagandists refuse to distinguish between health care and health insurance. Forcing everyone to purchase health insurance will do nothing to improve or reform the issues we have with our health care.

Read up on the individual mandate.

Read up on the ACA and the process it went through to become a law.

Also, the results of the 2008 election.

No speculation at all in regard to Medicare Part D...those are the facts as they played out...deal with it. The only speculation on my part is how fast Republicans would revoke ACA...but I will concede you one point...that it might take a few days instead of a minute.

Medicare Part D is the biggest unfunded liability ever introduced into law. So um yeah?

As far as Tea Party Republicans winning an election cycle where they win all 3 pieces of our Government AND they revoke a politically favorable law ...well ok lets entertain that fantasy.

I can guarantee that the next mid-term elections would be a disaster for them 🙂

We have been using 2 insurance types. We have one insurance with a deductible of about $6k. Then we have another insurance that covers all but $250 of the deductible.

Obamacare sucks. What idiot decided to cover people till age 26. Cant fix stupid.

I need some kind of insurance for my out of work wife who is 60. I just know I am going to get a kick in the ass. I will give it a week and then look for some info.

Is there anything that the government does not know about you? This is like giving the government another spy network.

Meanwhile Facebook handles over a Billion users. Some day we will look back and say "Oh the good ole days when the only problem with Obamacare was the website"

"Healthcare.gov is the website for the ACA.
Healthcare.gov is down.
Sometimes websites go down because of traffic.
Website traffic is a sign of popularity.
Thus, the ACA is only not functioning because it is so popular."

Ummmmmm, no.
