It's been above freezing pretty much all day there, along with precipitation.. How is it falling? As freezing rain? Rain? Snow?

LOTS of rain in Santa Fe today. The water was so deep on Cerillos that it was like driving through a river in the right lane especially before Saint Michael's where they did all that construction. It was supposed to be snow here in Nambe, but it barely looks like we got anything but a bit of rain. Loved that snow the other day though, went up to Truchas and had some off-road fun with the Jeep.

I'm not stoked... There is 7"-10" of snow outside my house right now. I went outside and played in it like a little child, but it makes it impossible for me to ride my bike. I was out there on my road bike in that snow and was almost about to die; if I was not to die from slamming my head into the street then exhaustion. My MTB even was a little better, but still madly impossible to ride. (So heavy and still was bad)

We got off better than a few of you guys it sounds, we got 12" yesterday and another 3" fell with today but with the high winds it seems like more.

I am loving all of this snow.

Why do you guys like snow? Snow sucks... You can't drive sometimes without chains, and all this other crap. I prefer no snow and a bright beautiful day.

I'm ready for spring.

A day is not beautiful to me unless it is dim, cloudy and snowing.

We were supposed to get nailed today with snow. I was expecting snow. I was hoping for snow. Fortunately/unfortunately, the band of heavy lake effect snow is to the north of us. Buffalo is getting pounded.

I live near Nambe pueblo, about 16 miles north of Santa Fe. I'm too cheap to live in Santa Fe. The WWoOF farm I live on now charges no rent, so it was hard to beat. 😛

True that.. This town is fucking expensive as all hell.

And I thought Portland was bad......

Buffalo always gets pounded with snow.

didn't they get, like, 7 feet of it last year out of a couple storms?

any how its been snowing here all day and very cold. Its -15C with high winds and its just plain nasty outside.

We are supposed to get more snow tonight (10 cm) and then more snow on Tuesday.

I'm stuck in Seattle wanting to drive down to McMinnville...fucking weather is throwing off my holiday plans :|

I'm planning on heading down tomorrow unless I absolutly can't.

Whiteout here in Halifax. Cool, I like a good snow storm. I don't have to go anywhere but just in case I have 4 bran new winter tires on the 4WD... Life is good.

we are now getting near blizzard like conditions.

I hope this lets up Monday morning. I need to get a new ignition coil for my Crown Vic.

The plow went up my street twice in the last 4 hours, there's still 2 inches of snow there...

And it's normal snowfall, Schools would not have close for this (but it's christmas vacations now).

This comes from the province of Quebec, where winter tires are mandatory 4 months a year on all passenger cars since last week!
Simple stuff: If you have to go out, give yourself plenty of time to get there. The drive like the guy in front of you will lose control any second. Being extra careful at stop signs is also very good, some people tend to overshoot very easily, even here...

Well, the wind is stronger then ever and there are power failure everywhere. The snow is really wet otherwise it would be a total whiteout.

Yea so you're not supposed to drive in Oregon without chains now. I went out a bit today (vancouver, WA) and I had to scrape my windshield off everytime I came out of a store.

The Buffalo area gets pounded, not necessarily directly in the city. The lake effect snowfalls are greater south of the city because of the rise in elevation. Further east, toward the other end of Lake Ontario, they really got hammered last year with a 4 or 5 foot snowfall. Right now, Buffalo's still getting hit, but south of the city in Orchard Park (Bill's Stadium is there), they're receiving 3 inches per hour, with nearly 0 degree (F) temperatures, and high winds.

This morning is going to be a bitch. Salem to Wilsonville got more freezing rain, and of course everything north is sitting at upwards of a foot of snow.

And the KGW anchors have caught cabin fever; the GM has canceled their Christmas vacations!:Q

I hope tomorrow is better, but it looks like I may be stuck up here until wednesday....really ruining my plans.

Not sure how much more snow we got, but it's pretty deep where I'm at, don't even think I could get out of the parking lot if I wanted to.
