Reaching any age and then saying that you're too old for anything is simply fake maturity. If you don't enjoy it anymore, fine. That has nothing to do with your age though. Who cares how old you are; just do what makes you happy. (within reason, of course)

<-----Gamer 4 Life

I moved and have not been able to play Call of Duty Multiplayer. I'm starting to go crazy.

Oh and if anyone plays on the Dead Prez server I'll be back in a month. Dragon

Damn... I didnt really think there was that many "older" guys that play games:)

I think Ausm pretty much said it best:

Believe me hardware manufacturers are targeting people that have cash not some snot nosed teenager unless they have parents who spoil them rotten.

I never really thought of it like that. Only adult gamers or kids with rich parents can really afford some of the hardware it takes to play the latest games. Good point Ausm;)

I don't really think I'm done with gaming all together, My intrests have changed from the games I played when I was younger.

<32 and still like playing video games. But now, I just play games sports/1st per shooter games that I can turn on/turn off. I got about halfway through Ravenholm on Halflife2 and haven't played it in about a month. I instead play CSs. Same thing with Farcry. They are both awesome games but I don't have patience when I get "stuck" in a game. Turn on - shoot people - turn off

I rather enjoy playing Burnout3/ESPN NHL+NFL05/ with my son on the xbox, though.

I'm 28 and i love games... i don't play as often as i use to of course, and i wouldn't even be able to gauge my hours by weeks... because some weeks i don't play, but monthly, i probably put in about 20 hours of gaming. But i don't play single player games anymore, or at least not often... most of it is MMORPGs.

It's a form of entertainment... i gamed when i was younger, and i still game now. I played sports when i was younger, and i still play them now. I read books when i was younger, and i still read now. I really don't see how you relate games to age... maybe you bought the brainwashing your parents put on you that games were for kids.

I can't imagine me at 30+ waiting in line at Best Buy or the local EB games for the latest Doom of HalfLife game

i was feeling the same way the past year or two, however i purchased xbox live in september of this past year. and now i am once again back into video games! granted I only play like 2 different games, but xbox live saved my gaming love. online gaming on a console is just so amazing. i can't say how much i recommend xbox live to anyone with xbox live.

i find myself playing games that i normally wouldn't play, just for the competition. i mean i havent even finished single player in halo 2 yet, nor do i feel like it. i just get on and play some halo 2 on xbox live, and im in the middle of a 16 man battle within 2 minutes of turning my xbox on. its just great!

the next huge game i want is street fighter anniversary collection for xbox. i cannot wait to play it on live! i'm sure there will be some great competition.

oh, btw, i turned 23 at the end of november. and yes, i was in line at 12:01 on nov 9th to get halo 2 :)

Getting older makes it harder to spend time playing games since you start adding responsibilities like your home, spouse, kids, job, hobbies, although in a way it makes stealing that half hour to play all the more special. I got out of console gaming after SNES and after college I bought a DC and got back into it. I just got a GC a few months ago. It's awesome.

I am 23 and still game, but not as much as I did in my teens. While I do love games like HL2 and Farcry, I find that it is taking me longer and longer to beat games cause I can't sit down an play for hours like I used to. I have been playing FARCRY since late November, and still have not beat it! I find that many times I would rather go hang out with my friends, go workout, play in a band/ play guitar, roleplay, cook, go to a bar, or watch a couple tv episodes I downloaded.

There are just certain games that really engrossed me when I was younger, mostly SNES games like Super Mario Kart, FF3, BOF 2, and many other RPG games. In my later years, while there are cool games liek Baulder's gate and the new Vampire: Bloodlines was good, I dont think I will ever be as happy with a game as I was when I was younger. Even on the computer, I am hard set to find a game that will beat Master of Magic, Diablo 1, CIV 2, Crusader: No Remorse, or the first time I played DOOM 2, or something else like Daggerfall. I was into MMORPGS in my later teens ( UO baby!) and MUDS, but I could never get back into them again. A bunch of my friends spend way too much time on WOW.

A couple cool things have happened around here though, we finally have a cyberlan cafe worth going to with cheap rates (4 an hour normal, cheaper for bulk rates). It is great to go over there, play some Counterstrike Source or BF 1942/Vietnam, and chill with a bunch of friends. I also like to drink and play Battlefield Vietnam/1942 online before I go out on friday and saturday nights.

Here's to getting older

Your age is not relevant to your behavior. The moment you realize that you'll have matured immensely.

Agreed. People who say other people are 'too old' for something usually need to grow up themselves. They're video games, not diapers...and WTF do they care for anyway?

I'm 30 plus...as are most of my friends.

We still get together every weekend for LAN session.

We don't wait in line for games....we usually pre-order. ;)

I never refered to anybody else asshat. When did I ever say anything about other people that play games ?

If you could read, then you would see I said I felt that I was feeling that gaming wasnt that big a part of my life anymore.

I have a stack that I barely play.

I'm 26 btw.

The three games I have been playing>?

BF Desert Combat
BF Vietnam
The new Warhammer game...the name eludes me at this time.

other than that? I dabble here and there. I'm done with school, have my weekend friends. When I come home from work I go exercise (4 times a week) then after that? I play some games with History Channel on in the background.

You suck...
there is no age limit on gaming...
there are plenty of 40+ people and families gaming... its becoming as large as an Industry as Movies...
they spend 100s of millions of dollars on single games now.. its a big business..
who do you think is behind the games?
most of the devs out there are in thier 30s-40s now...

Im 34 and I cant imagine life without being able to game...
yet I still have a very good job a wife and the whole family thing going on...
i still find a few hours to game every night after everything is done.

Once you get a girlfriend and you start going to the clubs ... gaming just isn't as exciting. Sure you'll have video games but you won't be playing them hours every day. You'll probably never finish any of them.

MY opinion.

The average gamer age is currently 29 and that's only going to get older as the Nintendo generation grows up.
