You and I may do that... but the problem is a lot of progressives will refuse to hold their nose and vote for Manchin. I think now they realize that Hilary was acceptable and they made a mistake, but she is miles better than Manchin.
Appealing to the base is not a winning electoral strategy.

I didn't say just appeal to the base. I'm saying don't have a Republican Lite candidate. I mean Hillary is like a leftist compared to Manchin.

Unfortunately he is too far to the right and I don't think a lot of progressives will hold their noses and vote for him no matter what. Like I said I think they would come out and vote for a Hillary type candidate this time. But Manchin is not in the same conversation.

You don't have to only and totally appeal to your base and capitulate up them, but you can't completely ignore and screw them over. That's just bad politics.

Again, thanks Bernie Bros.

Many? You mean yourself alone?

I am only one. Duh.

There are many people besides myself that have doubts about Biden making it until 2024 election. Esp. if he is going to run for reelection.

I know you and many others think he is doing a great job.

You can always push for a national divorce.

C'mon think about it.. would you rather be miserable most of the time or just focus on your own neck of the woods?

I'm not miserable at all.

I don't know why you would think I am.

I think all you liberals sould quit worrying about my neck of the woods.

People who are wondering that are mostly engaging in some sort of weird wishcasting where they invent stories about Biden's failing health. Like, they've been convincing themselves he will die at any minute for the last three years and are continually mystified as he continues to be in good health.

I'm not aware of any medical condition he has that would likely lead to his death in the next two years and according to the social security actuarial tables he should expect to live nine more years which is probably an underestimate given that he has the best health care in the world.

I'm not talking about death.

I'm talking about his mental abilities which seem to be slipping. Just watching him walk across the White House lawn is painful to watch.

When I was 16 years old I was working at a Large mental Institution in the garage as a mechanics apprentice. I remember delivering vehicles to the various wards on the facility and seeing the old men in some of those. Joe reminds me a lot of those older gentlemen walking, speaking and just the way he carries himself overall.

Now I'm not a Doctor, but those are my thoughts on it.

And yet he's still capable of riding a bicycle ...

Joe is pretty fit, he will make it.
I do feel Joe didn’t want to be President sort of like how the former President really didn’t want to be President. Just in Joe’s case I think he wanted a quiet retirement but duty called.

I didn't mean death. Just mentally unfit to continue.

And anytime someone brings that topic up, it's related to the methods he uses to suppress his speech impediment. Says more about the mental acuity of those questioning him actually ...

Who would you? Also thats an emotional response, where did Kamala touch you?

Who would I what?

Kamala Harris has done nothing since she was elected. She also sounds like a fool (as bad as Trump) when she speaks.

Exactly - Manchin is not my pick by any measure but in the end I will be voting for the winner of the Democratic primary no matter who it is because no one that comes out of that process is going to try and destroy our democracy.

I would vote for Manchin over Trump.
Serious.

Actually, No It doesn't.

The way he speaks, forgets what he is saying, the way he walks... His age is catching up with him. I do not understand why many cannot see this. He wasn't this bad during the campaign for president. It's not going to get any better.

Yes, he's old. But he's also reportedly in very good shape for someone of his age. As evidenced by his ability to still ride a bike.

The things you (and others) are attributing to some mental deficiency are just what I stated. Slowing down your speech is literally the most common method of dealing with a stutter.

So he slows his speech so slow he forgets what he is saying?
He has to be lead around by Jill so don't get lost.

We all have eyes and ears.
