U.S. President Trump said that "a couple" of the 20 living hostages held by Hamas may have died in captivity. Former Israeli Military Intelligence chief Aharon Haliva said that he gave Prime Minister Netanyahu a "strategic warning" alerting him of war during the period leading up to October 7, according to recordings broadcast by Channel 12 News. The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said that 61 Palestinians were killed over the last 24 hours. Protests calling for the release of the hostages and against the Netanyahu government are taking place across Israel.
People attend a demonstration organised by families and friends of Israelis held hostage by Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip since 2023, calling for action to secure their release in Tel Aviv on August 17, 2025.
■ GAZA: The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said that 61 Palestinians were killed and 308 were wounded and reached hospitals across the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours. According to the statement issued Saturday, eight new cases of death due to malnutrition and hunger were noted in the last day.

■ HOSTAGES/CEASE-FIRE: U.S. President Trump said that "a couple" of the living hostages may have died in captivity. "So now they have 20 [living hostages], but the 20 is actually probably not 20, because a couple may not be around any longer," Trump said at the Oval Office.
  • After Trump's comment, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum released a statement criticizing Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer – Israel's chief cease-fire negotiator – for failing to have updated them on their relatives' status, and called on the U.S. president to continue his efforts to secure their release.

  • Protesters for a hostage deal demonstrated outside the house in central Israel where far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was staying on Saturday morning, accusing him of torpedoing a deal, with one protester telling him "You're a historic failure, a terrorist, a criminal."

  • Protests for a hostage deal and anti-government demonstrations are taking place across Israel, ahead of Tuesday's national day of struggle announced by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum.

  • At a protest in Tel Aviv, hundreds called for an end to the war and to prevent the growing famine in Gaza, holding signs reading "Stop the genocide" and displaying photos of Palestinian children suffering from malnutrition.
"The pressure on Hamas is not only political. Israel continues its strikes inside Gaza, while Hamas struggles to demonstrate achievements on the ground. The hostages are no longer seen as the trump card they once were to halt the fighting, despite ongoing protests in Israel. Hovering over all this is the stance of the United States. President Trump, who only weeks ago expressed shock at images of famine in Gaza, has since aligned with Netanyahu in setting a clear goal: the destruction of Hamas. This makes it even harder for Hamas to argue it has any political horizon." – Jack Khoury

■ WEST BANK: The IDF is continuing to uproot olive trees in the West Bank village of al-Mughayyir for the second consecutive day, after a shooting attack on Thursday near the unauthorized Israeli settlement outpost of Adei Ad, in which a civilian suffered minor wounds.

  • The former director of Israel's Military Intelligence, Aharon Haliva, said that he gave PM Netanyahu a "strategic warning" alerting him of war during the period leading up to the October 7 attack, according to recordings broadcast by Channel 12 News on Friday.

  • The former director said he "came to a room, two people arrived, I showed them the findings," he said. "Two irrelevant people and that's it, here it ends. One was late, one didn't listen ... It's embarrassing." He said that the strategic warning he gave Netanyahu "means that something will happen."

The Israeli child sex predator who fled to Israel may have simply taken advantage of a Nevada legal loophole that allowed him to post bail and be released regardless of flight risks. So there possibly may not have been any Israeli conspiracy angle linked to this. Of course excluding the possibility that someone knew what the situation entailed, posted bail for him and told him to GTFO the country.

meanwhile, Americans in israeli jails....

Shit it gets worse.

So when rating dropped on the bond and the buy drive levelled off... FLORIDA passed a law that said you cant discriminate against foreign bonds.

Alright I am about 230 milliseconds away from going conspiracy on this Israel thing. What the fuck is going on. Watch the vid. I need to fact check it later... Fuuuuck.

when russia does stuff like this it's widely condemned and you see everyone in washington crying their crocodile tears about it but when israel does something like this it's oh well....they had it coming
I think you are mistaken; when Israel does something like that Stephen Miller screams antisemitism (as does usa govt who promptly slaps sanctions if you disagree).

An increasingly familiar pattern of pure evil acts...

It’s so much worse. They literally fired the second missile *on the exact stairwell* known to be used by media to get wifi and cell data coverage in order to file their reports.

“This incident is under investigation” just like the other 200 times they attacked journalists.
