So...I've got first waiver priority in a 12 man league. I'm a little shallow @ RB. Is Toby Gerhart worth it this week? I could also grab Pitta and drop him in a flex play too.

Toby Gerhart might not play this week. If you really need to start someone at flex I would go the safer route with Pitta. A couple of player to monitor are Lamar Miller & Reggie Bush. If Bush is out Joique Bell is a must start though he is probably picked up. If Lamar Miller is out then Daniel Thomas is a must start.

Besides the one that I have, Yes. Who should I pick up and play? The guy I'm playing against next weekend has a pretty elite team. His team is below and I'm pretty sure it's over for me unless the gods bless me with their might!

Tom Brady
Tony Romo

Demaryius Thomas
Andre Johnson
Josh Gordon
Eric Decker
Keenan Allen

Jamaal Charles
Shane Vereen
Zac Stacy

Jason Witten
Jordan Cameron

Mathew Stafford

Calvin Johnson
P. Garcon
B. Hartline
C. Patterson
Marvin Jones

Alfred Morris
Demarco Murry
Donald brown
D. Woodhead
Andre Ellington

Julius Thomas

Man, I'm not sure what to tell you here, there are greater minds/advice givers in this thread than me. I spliced together your line up with that of you opponents to see if anyone else here has good advice for you.

If I owned your team I'd get rid of Marvin Jones, Brown, and maybe Ellington if I had better options on the wire. Which it looks like you do. Gerhart looks like a go more so now than he did yesterday, as they're saying an inside source is claiming AP won't play. That hasn't been confirmed by the team yet though.

Bell is attractive if Bush doesn't play, but there's a good chance Bush's status won't be cleared up till late Sunday, maybe Monday, so who knows.

I was debating dropping Garcon myself, but then I realized he does play Atlanta this week, so that's a juicy matchup. Hell, maybe Cousins will even be throwing to him.

Either way you go on your lineup, just go with your gut. You need some swing for the fences plays, but who knows, maybe you win. Good luck!

I don't trust garcon anymore. I'm going to gamble on C. patterson since he's been hot. I also just got an email saying that AP is out this week for sure so I'm going to pickup Gerhart.

Damn it, waivers process tomorrow and there's so much uncertainty right now with a lot of players. I need another running back so I think I'm gonna have Gerhart at top priority, even though he himself is questionable. Then I think I'm gonna try and get daniel thomas also, since he faces new england who gave up damn near 40 points to ben tate (who, I have concluded, sucks). And finally, my quarterback is tony romo (who I absolutely detest) and cutler's sitting on the wire so I'm considering grabbing him in case he comes back

My opponent has been on fire lately! Blowing everyone out of the water. He just set a new all time league high score record. Even with AP gone, he scored 131 point this weekend (standard scoring)...but most that can be attributed to McCown blowing up this weekend. I honestly doubt I can beat him. But I'd like to give him a good competition.

Im sure my opponent (#4 on waivers) will go for Gerhart also. I am #8 on waivers.

Need to pick 1 RB for my Flex spot in a standard league; Booby Rainey (TB vs SF), Ryan Matthews (SD @DEN on Thurs), or Pierre Thomas (NO @ STL).

My vote is Matthews, but they may have to throw a lot (haha) to keep up. I'd say Rainey, but it's SF. RB's have been able to run on them lately, but they're still not allowing RB TD's. Thomas is a crap shoot, and StL D isn't exactly horrible.

I'm not high on Gerhart this week for a couple reasons. 1) His hammy. 2) The flow of the game - The Eagles should dominate MN's defense, and MN will be forced to throw to catch up. That leaves less touches for Gerhart. 3) Philly's graded Run D is #5, they are underrated.

I'm going for Daniel Thomas, he fucked me this week. I had Lamar Miller and Thomas was supposed to still be out with an ankle injury, and of course Miami hid his status to have the element of surprise vs Pitt. I am always starting him over Miller if I can. I probably would have won the week with McCown if Lamar Miller got all the touches instead of Thomas.

Yes. With the emergence of Brazill and D.Rogers for the Colts, Fleener's value is slightly diminished to high end TE2 - it will still remain to be seen how those 2 fare with Luck vs Fleener but I am tempering expectations now. Not only does Flacco trust Pitta, but the matchup favors Pitta as a safety blanket for Detroit's beast pass rush. Flacco will be looking for him often, how much success remains to be seen against Ndomikin Suh and co.

I'd have to agree with Mathews, he is the epitome of consistency - at least 9 points for the past 5 weeks. However, if you need homerun underdog upside you should go Pierre Thomas. I really like Thomas but NO has that stupid committee to deal with (Ingram and Robinson) that vultures goal-line TDs. However, if you think NO will blow out StL then Thomas is the homerun play - look at what he did to ATL and Dallas recently in blowouts. Very boom or bust. Rainey, super explosive and also boom or bust but I like Thomas a better for the matchup - he's due and going against a bottom 7 graded pass coverage. Rainey, like MisterJackson said, will have trouble scoring b/c that secondary doesn't give up TDs to RBs that can get past the first level LBs. Goal-line stands, SFs LBs clog gaps. Rainey may chunk some yardage, but it'll be tough for him to get into the end zone. He could get lucky though, but my bet is on Thomas for homerun.

I'd make the decision in accordance to who you're playing and if you think you'll be the underdog (Thomas) or favored (Mathews) and can let your other heavy hitters crush it while Mathews holds par. If you're the underdog, then you have nothing to lose if Thomas shits the bed.

So I've got the Titans for week 16 against the Jags (this will be my championship game), but the Browns are available right now. Do I stash them now and use them for their week 16 matchup against the Jets?

I'd have to drop either the Titans or the Eagles DS/T. I'm likely using the Eagles this week.

And on the highly unlikely chance you guys haven't heard yet, Bobby 3 Sticks got benched by M. Night Shanahan. No one saw that twist coming, huh? Man, Matthew Berry was right about the Redskins. They're that hot girl you meet at the bar, but after just a bit of time, she's a hot drunk mess.

do I start Cordarrelle Patterson if Cassel is not the QB for Vikings this week?

It lowers his value a bit b/c of less deep ball threat but from what I've seen on his TDs, he is mainly scoring off designed runs or screens in space where he has blocking and can break tackles with his strength/blazing speed. He's still a homerun threat every time he touches the ball, which includes kickoff returns.

Who are your other options? Are you playing a very strong, similar, or very weak opponent this week?

I actually thought RG3's season would be over with one hit this year so I stayed away from him in the draft. To his credit he's not taking as many bad hits, however he's still taking stupid hits and not sliding. Part of the reason is that Shanny isn't as agressive with him this year (hence less hits) but now defenses aren't worried about his legs. It's a lose-lose situation; I don't blame Shanny for clearing out his office last year, the writing was on the wall with the stupidity of the RG3 pick. I bet Shanny didn't even want to draft RG3.

I've detailed in other threads last year when everyone was nutting their pants over the Skins/RG3's decent playoff year that this would happen. They should have drafted Riley Reiff (OL on Detroit, +4.9 grade, number 23rd pick drafted while skins originally had 16th pick but traded up) and stuck with Cousins or Russell Wilson. With tackles Reiff anchoring one side opposite Trent Williams, you have two young studs to protect your QB along with solid vets Tyler Polumbus (guard) and center Montgomery, you only have to pick up a guard from free agency. Furthermore, the Skins lost their first round pick in this upcoming draft to the Rams. Pure stupidity, that's not how you build for the future. Pocket passing is the future of the NFL, and the only way to dominate is to build a good OL. My $.02

Really deep keeper PPR league, and I have to choose which of my four scrub running backs I play...

Rainey vs SF
Miller or Thomas vs NE
Gerhart vs Philly

Obviously I am not excited about any of them, bad hammy, SF defense, and flip a coin as to who is really going to get the carries.
Current plan is rainey and gerhart.
Anyone have any insight?

I had a first round bye in the fantasy playoffs this year, and I felt awesome about my team. Then AP and Gronk go down with injuries. UGH!

I dropped Gronk and picked up Charles Clay. This is what I'm thinking about starting. Wanted to get your thoughts.

Starters
Andrew Luck IND - QB
Keenan Allen SD - WR
Harry Douglas Atl - WR
A.J. Green Cin - WR
Matt Forte Chi - RB
Shane Vereen NE - RB
Charles Clay Mia - TE
DeMarco Murray Dal - Flex

Bench
Martellus Bennett Chi - TE
Adrian Peterson Min - RB
T.Y. Hilton Ind - WR
Ryan Mathews SD - RB
Julian Edelman NE - WR

I also have to pick between Kansas City and Carolina defenses. Both matchups look pretty good. Right now I'm thinking Kansas City. Anything in my lineup you guys think I should change?

1/2 point PPR.

He is #4, but has been blowing everyone out of the water and just set the all time high score record for the league. This is his team

A couple things. 1) If you can get Cutler, do it. There's a chance he will start over McCown. If he has to play Carson Palmer against the Titans, that is a HUGE advantage for you b/c TN has 2 lockdown corners and Michael Floyd has a gimpy ankle - AZ will most likely go to the run a lot.

Other than Josh Gordon vs the Bears and Vernon Davis vs TB and Vereen vs Miami (will probably have a decent day as Brady will be checking down alot due to Miami pass rush/pass coverage), your opponent doesn't have the best schedule matchups. Andre Johnson is a beast but will be shadowed by Vontae Davis - still uneven but Houston won't be able to go to Johnson as much. Chris Johnson will have a rough day against AZ. Rashard Jennings will have a tough time the Chiefs or Gerhart against an underrated Eagles run D w/ a gimp hammy. Also, he has the SAINTS against his defense (lol).

Your team: Foles should do well against MN, Cooper as well. Gore and Greg Olsen should do well, as well as AZ vs the dismal Raiders whose OLine grades 6th to last vs 7th best graded D.
Now let's get to your two boom or bust players: Pierre Thomas and Cordarrelle Patterson. I would feel safer with Hartline at WR instead of Patterson because New England has the 2nd to worst pass rush in the league, which means that Tannehill will have all day to throw and IF lockdown corner Talib is on Mike Wallace - Hartline could blow up. Additionally, I like to minimize variance by not having a ton of players in one game, you would have 3 players going in the Eagles vs MN. So who to FLEX if you put Hartline at WR? I would recommend Jacob Tamme if he's still available (I just picked him up in both leagues). According to roto, he will be replacing Wes Welker in the slot Thursday and you want any of Peyton's receivers against SD. If you can't get Tamme, then flexing Pitta would be your next best bet although not nearly as good a play (low variance due to Flacco inconsistency) because of Detroit's pass rush.

All in all, IF McCown doesn't start then Foles should give you enough of an advantage over Vereen, Flash Gordon, and Vernon Davis. If he does start, then it's going to be close.

I'd go with Rainey or Thomas for standard, PPR Gerhart may get more touches than Thomas but less upside going against a tougher run D.
