So here's one; better bye week QB filler - Tannenhill MIA @ BUF, or Josh Freeman MIN @ NYG? Bradford is also available but since he's playing CAR that seems to make him a worse option.

I think the fact the MIN is playing the Giants pushes this into a lot closer decision than it would be normally.

Look back through the previous posts and you'll find a lot of good info on this. I'm in the same boat as you, and settled on Tannehill.

Wondering if it would be worth it to pick up any of these available players.

Here is my roster:

Here are available players in my league:

I cannot drop the second TE since Jimmy Graham has a bye week. I COULD drop Russell Wilson but I'm not sure thats the best move.

I'd grab SJax for the playoff push. I don't understand why people seem to be holding onto injured WRs like Percy Harvin and Roddy White for weeks on end, but if Jackson doesn't come back right on schedule he's a drop? And drop him in order to pick up someone like Peyton Hillis as a replacement? I just don't get it.

Would be nice to see a few more of the available players. Looks like a very shallow league, small rosters. I do like Denarius Moore. Is Keenan Allen available? What TEs can you get? Cumberland should be a decent bye week filler and you shouldn't need a backup TE once Graham is back.

Given that it is a shallow league, I would not be entirely against dropping Roddy White. If Keenan Allen is available, I would drop White for him and play him over Torrey Smith.

You might consider dropping Roddy White for Mike Wallace or Denarius Moore. If you don't want to drop white drop Harvin.

I am not nearly as high on stashing Harvin as a bunch of people are. There is still no clear timetable on his return and he has yet to participate in tough drills in practice. Seattle has been doing well without him, Lynch has been running hard and Wilson has been getting it done with Rice, Tate, Zach Miller and Luke Wilson.

A bunch of analyst like Powell this week as the New England run defense is decimated with injuries. But I would not drop anyone on your bench to pick him up.

Luckily for me and you it seems that the Graham injury is nothing serious and he should be back to action next week. If he is back to 100% you could drop Cumberland for an extra spot.

I think people are concerned because the SJax news has been mostly negative while the Harvin news has been mostly positive. SJax is older and it seems like he's taking a long time to heal up.

Looking at how that league is set up, only needing to start 1 RB with the chance of starting a 2nd if you want, there's not much need for tons of stash RBs.

Maybe drop CJ2k for MJD?

Nah... CJ0K has a much more favorable schedule rest of season. Both have looked awful but given the roster there's not much need to keep more than 3 RBs. And TRich, Lacy, and CJ0K are probably the ones to keep.

One issue is that TRich and CJ0K have the same bye. So maybe he has to start 3 WRs in week 8.

SJax has yet to be cleared to even practice and the Falcons schedule is touch. Plus with the Falcons season probably being in the toilet by the time he comes back I doubt they would push him hard. Unless you can afford a bench spot to stash him and you are at least 4-2 then he is droppable.

What do you guys think, Ravens @ Steelers, or Panthers home to Rams. I'm leaning Panthers since Bradford stinks and they are at home, but the Ravens D is pretty great and Ben's O-Line is rough. :hmm:

Chris Johnson has a good schedule for the second half of the season. Plus he always seems to have a better 2nd half of the season.

Chris Johnson is the weirdest player to me. You like at him during the season on your team and he stinks yet you look at his numbers the past 2 seasons:

2011: Total Yards: 1465 Touch Downs: 4
2012: Total Yards: 1475 Touch Downs: 6

Not amazing but good enough for #2 RB numbers.

Panthers. It's the non-divisional game against a team who isn't an arch-rival.

I noticed last year he came thru at the end. I was making fun of the guy who had him early in the year. Now I'm that fool. Lol.

CJ is like at 400 and a score. If he can hit 1500/5 that would be amazing in that last 10 weeks.

I'm debating on starting him this week or Lamar miller who has been random as well.

Talk me out of starting the San Diego D/ST this week. They are on the road against Jacksonville and played well against the Colts last week.

I think once Jake Locker comes back Chris Johnson will get better.

Freeman has a much better matchup but I would go with Tannehill as well. It's really hard to trust Josh Freeman in the spotlight on MNF with his first start on the Vikings playing well.

Just wanted to look this up. He had a much better second half in 2011 than in 2012, but he still improved both years. May have something to do with his schedule in those years, I'm not sure.

2011, total yards in Sept-Oct: 462, 2.8 YPC, 1 TD
2011, total yards in Nov-Dec-Jan: 1003, 4.8 YPC, 3 TD

2012, total yards in Sept-Oct: 723, 4.5 YPC, 2 TD
2012, total yards in Nov-Dec: 752, 4.5 YPC, 4 TD

I even went back and checked his career splits:

Career, total yards in Sept-Oct: 3859, 4.3 YPC, 20 TD
Career, total yards in Nov-Dec-Jan: 5110, 4.9 YPC, 29 TD

So he's a definite bounce-back candidate. The things holding him back - his QB, Shonn Greene possibly stealing carries, his apparent lack of effort (seems more pronounced this year than in years past), and his lack of involvement in the passing game. In past years, he has often salvaged his fantasy stats by getting several catches per game. This year, he has just 11 catches for 96 yards, 49 of which came on a single broken play.

Andy Reid just said in a press conference that on the sidelines he will eat a chicken wing for every sack against Keenum/Yates and a rack of ribs for every pick six at Arrowhead Stadium Sunday.

They are a really bad fantasy D/ST this year. They have not topped 7 points in standard Yahoo scoring this year. Another interesting statistic someone posted on Reddit: (D/ST points per game) minus (average points against per game). This measures how well defenses do against matchups. San Diego ranked dead last with -6.69 points. That means that, ON AVERAGE, San Diego falls nearly 7 points short of what they "should" score based on the matchup. In a dream matchup against the Jaguars, who have given up 15.5 points on average to fantasy D/STs, they'll be lucky to hit 10 points.

For contrast, the best D/ST, the Chiefs, has beaten the average by 11.45 points. Next highest is the Seahawks with 4.83. The Chiefs are FAR AND AWAY the best fantasy defense to own this year.

Better defenses than San Diego this week (that are likely to be available; I won't include obvious ones like San Francisco or Kansas City): Green Bay, Miami, New England, Carolina. New England has an added bonus in that they have nice matchups in weeks 8 and 9 as well.

In my work league a team traded Matt Forte for Jason Witten, Terrance Williams and Kenbrell Thompkins. What a terrible trade. And now the team with Forte has C.J. Spiller and Benjarvus Green-Ellis as his starting running backs.

I asked him why he did it, he said that he needed a TE and some WR depth bad. He is pretty new to fantasy football but I told him that next time he needs to shop a player as he could have gotten a much better deal.

Panthers have one of the best OL's vs one of the worst, plus their defense is above average, they should have no problems at all. Ravens vs Steelers, never pick a rivalry game where both teams are desperate. Also, I should mention that the Ravens secondary is average at best despite the monster pass rush and good Run D.
