I guess you don't watch much football, because Harbaugh is the only coach to yell at refs.

For the bolded, sore loser much?

Lol. As I said, the Hawks didn't show up and the Niners could still only barely eek out a win. See you in Seattle for the playoffs.

Then you can certainly expect a spectacular post-game Harbaugh whinefest about the big mean cheating Seahawks and their too-loud fans. Or maybe he'll actually take responsibility for his team sucking, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to cancel NFL RedZone...

Actually, I haven't had it since early November; was waiting for a good weekend to get it back, and should have done it this weekend but I overslept. Still got to see the second half of Philly/Detroit (excellent snow game) and the final two minutes of Baltimore/Minnesota (or, as I prefer to view it, nearly twice as many touchdowns as the entirety of San Francisco/Seattle). I've come to the realization that football is approximately infinitely more exciting when played in deep snow; I petition the league move to scheduling overseas games in Siberia and Greenland for the entirety of October through the playoffs.

Shannahan is on the way out, for sure. Before 2012, the last time they won their division was in 1999.

They've gone 5-11, 6-10, 10-6, and now whatever garbage they manage this season under Shannahan. He just hasn't done much.

Remind again which team has had more PED suspensions than the Hawks over the past 1-3 years?

You sound like a typical band wagon fan. I bet they didn't show up vs. their loss either, right?

Between the Niner game and the free UFC night of Hunt vs. Silva I don't think I've jumped up and down so much watching tv in one weekend in a very long game.

Didn't realize just how much the Hawks secondary grabs, I was really surprised to see it on almost any catch. But man, Kap fubar'd some stupid simple throws in this game.

Good game by your 49ers.

Anyone and everyone who thought Seattle would blow out San Fran was clueless. Division games are tough and SF was defending home field. There is a lot of pride there, especially after the 29-3 beat down earlier in the season on MNF. SF has been playing well as of late, is getting healthier, and frankly this was a must win game. If SF loses they are in a dead heat with Arizona and they play week 17. This win puts SF clearly in the 5th/6th seed wild card slot, separates them and CAR from the rest of the wannabees, and forces Arizona to go to the Clink and win to even make week 17 relevant. The game also set up well for SF with Seattle coming off a Monday night game and traveling.

That said the game was close. Good on Gore exploiting the over commit by the sub for KJ Wright (who was injured earlier in the game), but if SF failed there game over. SF then exploited Carroll's horrible history of clock management. First is the time out on 3-and-7 where Kap ran for 8. Carroll should NOT have called the TO. As SF got the 1st (obvious QB run--poor execution by SEA / great execution by SF) SEA could have called a time out, and then the 2 minute warning would have stopped the clock after 2nd down. Seattle would have gotten the ball back with 1:20 left. Ok, so Carroll screwed up. The next screw up was not letting them score the TD. 30 seconds is hardly enough time to march down the field with NO timeouts. Best chance IMO is to let them score and have 80 seconds to run whatever you want.

Seattle needs to also stop whining about penalties (see SB in 2005--champions overcome those things, not whine). But I do find your comment about SEA DB's holding one sided--SF receivers where holding and pushing off all game. If the refs are going to allow the receivers to hold, grab, and push then the DBs need the same latitude. In fact there was an example of a no-call where Boldin TACKLED a defender on a pass play. Likewise when Lane was called for a facemask it was because a SF player had his hand in his pads holding all the way down the field.

The game was a drag out, knock'm, sock'm physical brawl. SF brought the heat, defended home field, and stayed true to themselves--tough D and running. Late in the game Seattle looked to play a "don't lose" strategy which SF exploited. If Sherman wants to whine about the game he can whine about the O Coordinator not calling a good game. Wilson started off 8-of-11 for 144 yards. And then they went away from what was working to play conservative--I think they underestimated SF in this regards and SF manned up.

I am sure the SEA haters are saying SEA cannot win on the road but 5-2 and losing the games by 6 and 2 points is a sign of a strong team. Under different circumstances (i.e. Seattle playing SF on a normal week in the playoffs) I think SEA has a fair shot at winning that on the road. While SF could beat SEA in the Clink in the playoffs I think right now I would favor SEA by at least a TD at home.

purbeast has been particularly vocal in his distaste for how awful the Redkins are this year.

I am surprised Jason Garrett hasn't had rumors of him being fired yet. The Cowboys haven't exactly been a playoff team in his past 3 years. But, he does have 2 Cowboys Superbowl rings (3rd string for Aikmen lol) and a memorable Thanksgiving comeback win game. Jerry Jones seems to like him for whatever reason.

This is why Elway was one of the greats, not only did he do it all by himself on the field for most of his career, he also had no help from the coaching staff cause Reeves stunk too. Least Brady has someone out there cheating for him.

Just the fact that the the pick the Redskins fork over to the Rams next year could very well be the #1 pick makes me shake my head.

Mid season I expected them to turn things around to finish with a half decent year but things have just been spiraling down the toilet.

"Yes'um Massa Jerry, yes'um. Whatevers you say Massa Jerry."

Why can't the Cowboys get a good head coach that will stand up to Jerry Jones and actually win games... Oh, that's right, because Jerry Jones is the one in charge of hiring them. =(

What a stupid comment. How did Denver and Elway win their SBs? Cheating the salary cap twice so they could keep Terrell Davis. Denver was fined and lost a draft pick. You must be young or ignorant.

Oh, Shannahan was stealing signals too when he was coaching the Broncos.

RG3 to be benched? Shanahan's press conference sure makes it seem that way.

He should, same with Rodgers, at least half the game. With no chance, or little, of making the playoff playing a team captain while they are injured or coming back will not help next year.

Leave them in long enough to get some more playtime/experience but not long enough to get hurt more.

Not sure if Shanahan was part of it but the redskins also f__ked up the payroll. They got fined by the league and had their salary cap reduced this year and next. So if I was Shanahan I be trying to get out. The redskins have their hands tied from the lower salary cap and no first round. I think RG3 will be better next year once he stops wearing the brace but they are tied up on both ends when it comes to getting new talent.

Surprised Shanahan still has a job today. I don't think he's mishandled RG3 at all like others seem to think, I just think he's a bad coach.

I disagree with Rodgers. If he is back next week, GB still has a chance to make the playoffs. They are half a game back on Detroit IIRC, and Chicago is going to lose to Dallas tonight (because I am a Cowboys fan and have spoken!).

Redskins should play RG3 very limited though, I do agree with that. If they want him to be worth a crap next year when they will need him the most (good luck getting more talent with how bad they've handled the team).

Agreed. GB still has a shot at the playoffs. If Rodgers is healthy, they'd be stupid not to play him.
