Do you really think it's that big of a deal, to warrant getting pissed and forcing her to move to the front seat?

WTF?

And you call her rude????

:roll::roll:

Uhm, I'm not really angry right now. I was just a little pissed when it happened, and would continue to drive her home if she decided not to move. I'm just wondering if this is a cultural thing or she just have no manner.
That's what I don't understand. How can this even be a "manners" thing? How is it bad manners?

Don't you think that the whole act of getting angry and forcing her to sit next to you was a little more uncomfortable than her sitting in the back seat could ever be?

Geez.. I mean, everyones different... but it's not that big of a deal. Certainly not worth saying anything about.

Eating food in your car would be considered rude and impolite, not sitting to the rear a couple of feet......

I felt like she is disrespecting me. I'm her friend so it makes sense if she move to the front so we can chat normally/conveniently. Staying in the back felt like she just doesn't give a $hit as long as I can drive her home.

EDIT: Let's say, if you are going with your friend just the 2 of you and he/she is driving. Do you go straight to the back seat? If no, why (apart of it being more comfortable in the front)?

Resting your arms on the dinner table can be considered impolite... why? Nobody knows...
Where else are you going to put them? Under the table?

Buncha weirdos.

See my last post above. Maybe it's not exactly a manner thing (need to find a better word for it), but it's something decent that you can do to your friend out of respect.

Yes, it's rude. If I drop someone off and there's a passenger remaining, I'll wait and ask that person to join me in the front (though I won't push the issue). Reason being, I'm your friend, not your chaufer.

If I'm the only person left in the back then I'll move to the front without being asked.

No, I think you have it exactly right. It's simply good manners.

I usually don't care where my passengers sit. If I'm the last passenger to be dropped off and If the ride is long, then I'll move up to the front. If the ride is short, then I won't. If I'm the only passenger, then ofcourse I'll sit in the front.

You were doing them the favor of driving them, so why did you bother? Maybe you should have made them pay you for the ride while you were at it. If you feel like a chump for doing people favors, don't do it anymore. What an ass!

I am doing her favor by driving her but that doesn't mean I have to feel that she is taking advantage of me. And that doesn't mean she is entitle to act like an ass. How do you feel if you are going somewhere and your friend just decide to sit in the back during the trip?

you peopel are too uptight. Some of you at least. I'll stay where the hell I am because I'm a lazy fvck. I'll move though if its a cramped backseat. If i'm comfortable though, god help you if you try to make me move.

EDIT: Although, I would move if the driver asked or said anything though.

Thinking about it, I also move to the front seat if the person in the front gets dropped off or whatever.

My truck has a bench seat, so I don't have to worry about this I guess....... lol

Or have you sit in the back seat when the front seat is empty? Do you feel the need to move to the front, why or why not?

Back in my home country I & my friends consider this rude and always move to the empty seat in the front. Last week I got into an argument with my japanese friend. She sat in the back and at first refused to move to the front even though I asked her to move (She lives about 10 minutes from where we were at the time). She finally moved to the front once it's obvious that I was kinda pissed. She told me she doesn't know about this and it's probably a cultural issue. I think this is BS since it's more of a common courtesy, what do you think?

In a car, I'll move. In anything with rear captains chairs, I won't unless asked. In a coupe, I usually won't, because the driver is usually in a hurry to get moving again and it takes too much time/effort to move up for their tastes. But if asked, I will.

It's "You are" and "to satisfy" :D
Joking aside, will you move to the front without being asked? Why?

That's what I'm wondering, why some of us move even without being asked and some of us don't.

"How do you feel if you are going somewhere and your friend just decide to sit in the back during the trip?"

First of all, YOU offered to chauffeur them around. That was YOUR choice. Secondly, she was already sitting comfortably, so there's no way I would have asked her to move. If she wanted to, she would have on her own. Third, I don't care where people choose to sit in my car. Wherever they're most comfortable is fine by me. If I didn't want to drive them, they wouldn't be in my car in the first place. I know for fact that anybody I choose to give a ride to, appreciates it. The thought never crosses my mind that they're taking advantage of me... NEVER!

Well okay, I guess we are just different. For me and most of my friends, it's a given. Usually they will just move to the front or we make sure the person who sits in the front will be dropped off last. This is the first time a friend of mine choose not to move to the front.

They're my friends, they know how I am. I wouldn't have someone who gets pissed because I didn't feel like getting up, going out, then coming back in to sit 2 feet away from where I already was drive me anywhere in the first place. That, and the fact that I can leave whenever I want is why I try to drive as often as possible. People can ride along and sit wherever the hell they want.

Of course, the golden rule is the driver is always right, but of course, don't be an ass if you're a driver.

how is it rude? get over yourself, you can't tell people where to sit.

it IS weird though, since i can't imagine not wanting the better view and better legroom that front seats offer.

you're both being anal.
you for being offended, her for not moving when you first asked her.
