not rude, just a little unusual

lolololol

Maybe I worded it incorrectly.
Do you feel uncomfortable or maybe you don't mind if your friend choose to not sit in the empy front seat?
Or have you sit in the back seat when the front seat is empty? Do you feel the need to move to the front, why or why not?

I drive friends to and from school. I FORCE someoen to be in the front or else I feel like a cab driver. I always want to sit in the front, cause that shows that you are confortable talking to the person.

Yea, I understand where you're coming from but honestly you shouldn't have DEMANDED her to move to the front.
I ALWAYS move to the front, considering the driver's feelings, but there are times when I'm really lazy and don't feel like moving and think to myself wth its freaking 10 minutes away. Maybe thats what she was feeling.

Either get a sports car with only two seats or learn to deal with it. Personally I don't see this as an issue. I would have demanded. I would have asked if she would like to move up front. If she said no leave it at that and move on. Why make a big deal out of nothing?

Honestly,

I wouldn't give a hoola hoot where the hell you sit. Just don't be a backseat or passenger side driver. Being all emotional before or during the drive can only increase your chances of getting into a car accident as you're not as focused at the task at hand as you should be.

Suddenly her not sitting in the front is no longer a big deal compared to you just hitting a pedestrian or running a red and hitting another vehicle. See what I'm trying to say?

As long as she's not creating a dangerous driving environment I'd simply get her from point A to point B and let it be the end of that situation.

If she was already buckled up in the backseat, why move? Unless you were going on a really long trip, that is.

I've seen too many mob movies. If someone's in the back seat I feel like I'm gonna get whacked.

<--first post from my kickass new NEC 22" monitor 😀

I think it's rude and slightly insulting. I mean, how are you going to carry on a conversation with her while she is in the back. It's hard to make eye contact or read the body language of a person if you have to turn around to see her.

By not going up frong she is saying either:

a) I don't want to really engage in a conversation with you now
b) I'm better than you and you can drive me around like a taxi or choffeur
c) I'm too friggin lazy to move

I should mention that if she tried that crap with me, she'd be in for a huge surprise...how about a six foot boner uppercut!!!???!?1111///??

🙂 I'm not really that pissed, I just showed her that her attitude/action is really bothering me. In fact I was about to just forget it and drove when she finally decided to move to the front. And no, she didn't buckle up.

You didn't ask her to stick her hand out because you wanted to try something.....did you?

"Umm, i'm gonna try something now, but if you don't like it, let me know. Stick out your left hand."

Eye contact?

Eyes on the road, please.

Yep, that's what my concern would be. Why bother somebody to move at all?

"...told her I don't want to feel like her personal driver..."

What an ass. You were doing them the favor of driving them, so why did you bother? Maybe you should have made them pay you for the ride while you were at it. If you feel like a chump for doing people favors, don't do it anymore. I really don't think they'll miss you at all...

You mean you don't glace over at the passenger occasionally when talking to him/her? I just find it easier to converse with someone in the passenger seat than with someone in the back. I bet you always have your hands on 10 and 2 as well huh?

WTF?
Two posts in a row without any mention of scratching someone's face off????

I did that to my mom once, she got pissed and I didn't understand why. Until she told me, sitting in the back seat with the front seat vacant usually makes the driver feel like a taxi.

:disgust: Read my post above you ignorant troll. If you are grewing up where I was, it's kind of like a cultural thing. I'm an ass because I felt uncomfortable with her action?
I asked her nicely to move to the front and explained that I'm uncomfortable with it. You are the ass if you refuse to move to the front and this is also after I treat her for a nice dinner.

Do you mind if I ask your cultural background? (asian, westerner, etc)
