I say, call the police now if you aren't afraid of being ignored.
If you see the same thing again, call the police.

Don't try to move in for a closer look. Don't try to go and tell the kids to cut it out.

Drug dealers come in all shapes and sizes. At a catholic school in chicago, a priest got caught with some large volume of cocaine.

well all i can say is good luck. i hope your perseverance and determination keeps your block nice.

Just Dont come back posting I just got shot for breaking the code of the streets(MYOB)

Well if you're right, he's just a petty peddler with no guns anyway. What does anyone have to worry about?

LOL... doesn't that contradict everything you have been saying (i.e. that there isn't likely any danger of violence)?

I was basing that statement on your neighborhood not his. I dont know where he lives or what kind of "suburb" it is

Youre right outside philly which puts you closer to the blocks where there is violence.

I got ya. Well, I'll take my chances. *BLAK!*

I'd ask for a cut..

This is rh71's block, if you want to do bizness here, you got to tithe da boss...

It's pretty sad to be selling drugs in a catholic school uniform, I would put an anonymous tip in with the local 5.0 about a suspected drug transaction. Tell them what you saw and they might send a extra squad car to patroll your area. The kids might get busted or scared straight. Regardless they are not doing anyone a service by selling crack on the corner

Well at least you guys are keeping it pretty civil.

First, the block is not a square block and there's about 10-20feet between houses here - it's still suburbia. LI is all suburbia unless you're bordering Queens. Whatever the case, I don't care what you call it.

Seeing this in a quiet NYC street corner would be a MYOB situation for me. Seeing this in my quiet neighborhood is not a good thing. I don't care where else they go and I don't care if those kids continue to do drugs. GET IT OFF MY STREET. You have no idea how many kids are under 10 in this neighborhood vs. the amount of teenagers who may think it's cool. Go away. Do it elsewhere.

I've decided I will call the cops if I see this suspicious activity happen again, but not until then. I don't live at the corner house so seeing it this morning was all by chance. Who knows how long it could've been going on for; who knows what the chances are of me seeing it again if/when it happens again? I still don't want it happening on my street.

I'm wondering why this gigapet fellow is trying so hard to defend a possible criminal act...

If it were my neighborhood, I would keep a sharp eye out for further suspicious activity before calling the cops. If I then found that there was indeed more to it than my first observation, I would definitely call the cops.

Let's pretend that what rh71 saw really was a drug deal...

Sure, the guy in the SUV may be a small time dealer, but that small time dealer can lead to someone bigger. And this guy is dealing to kids for hell's sake!

I may not agree that drugs should be illegal, but while they are, I believe that citizens should actively do their part to keep their neighborhood's crime free. Fvck that MYOB shite...

I find Gigapet's avatar to be quite ironic. That being the case, I think you could call and give the facts that you listed hear being sure to tell them you never saw any drugs, it just looked shady to you. Chances are they won't do anything anyway, but at least you did your duty to your neighborhood and are looking out for the kids.

First thing lets not jump to conclusions. black man driving SUV interacts with kids = drugdealing? huh? Thats a huge assumption. Like you said you were too far away to be sure of anything.

Do u see this alleged "drug deal" as a threat to your saftey? The way you described it I'd say it not likely that this event effected anyones saftey. So then I'm gonna have to reccomend you MYOB.

p.s. there is a werd for people like you where I come from....actually two words come to mind......

Get your facts straight and stop racial profiling.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here: are you black? Are you one of those people that turn stuff into a black/white scenario? He was just saying what he thought went on, he wasn't accusing some "black dude" about being a drug dealer... its people like you that I despise... remember: slavery ended hundreds of years ago...
Why not reread, and then think twice about making assumptions, cuz they obviously are making as ass outta u (and possibly me)...

Shoot them!

Or just watch them and see if they continue, if they do, its your business since its on your street, take some video, some pictures(dont get caught!) and give it to cops, or just call the cops, perhaps get the license of the expedition if it happens again.

Ahhhh...couldn't have said it better 😀

rh71, where in Long Island are you? I'm around Hicksville/Plainview/Farmingdale, and as of late, heavier drug use has been increasing exponentially. Coke is becoming the big thing to do around here, and the people pushing are as Flatline said, local people who live within a mile or 2. One actually lives within 6 blocks of me.

Same area. Have the cops actually tried to do anything about this? Do they know ?

This is exactly why neighborhood involvement is important. If it's let go and everyone turns their heads... nicer areas will become problem areas.

You should not have gone out on that limb cuz it broke and you fell on your fat head. I'm prolly whiter than you. Talkk about making assumptions jeeez buddy take your own advice. Slavery ended hundreds of years ago? really? Hmm i think some african americans might challenge that. Try not even two hundred years ago. And civil rights was only last century. As far as I'm concerned slavery has not really ended it just changed its face. But thats a whole other issue. Bottomline is I doubt this guy would have thought twice if it was a young white guy driving a honda civic and not a black guy driving an SUV.

BUt being that he is from LI i'm gonna have to say it was prolly drug related but that shouldnt be a surprise LI supplies all of New England its one big drug factory once you cross the throgs neck.
