I really don't like this ubermensche idea lot of Asians have as well... "We are smarter on average than Whites, Indians, Arabs etc.!!!"

Let see, just the top of my head.
Politics: Washington Governor, U.S. Senator (Hawaii) (can't remember names at this moment)
Acting: Dustin Nguyen, Jason Scott Lee, Lee Diamond Phillip
Science: Do I need to get you all the names of Asian doctors in my city? It would take a while just to list them and it is just a medium/mid size city. Take a look around the Federal/State sciences entities, there are tons of us there.

I know we don't have a lot at the top yet but considering our short history (especially for the recently immigrants), we achieve more than other races (per capita), even the natives.

I woud never say we are smarter, just work harder and relentless (see my sig). Our parents give up a lot for us and we just tried our darnest.

Here is my take. When I was in HS, there was only 1 black guy and zero hispanics/other races beside us Asians and Whites in AP classes.
When I was in college, same thing, zero black/hispanics/other beside us Asians and Whites in our MBA classes. One white gal and I were the only 20something in our classes, everyone were 30 or older. Our city is 50/50 between black and white.

I don't understand why other minority races need affirmative actions just to get in college/get a job/promotions,etc. Why not just study/work harder and smarter to get in/achieve on your own merits? I did it and other Asians did it, without any help.

Fvck politics and all politicians, they're all scumbags and their only reason of existance is to screw people.

Acting? eh, don't really care.

No Asians in science? You have got to be joking.

That doesn't really help you much at all, especially if you can't even remember the name of one of them.

Your acting list is hilarious. Who the hell is Dustin Nguyen? Jason Scott Lee, wow! Who is 'Lee Diamond Phillip'? Is that Lou Diamond Phillips, who is of a very mixed descent?

Hey I live about a half-mile from this Latino farmer. I swear to god he throws a party every other night, every week, for the last three years I've been in this house. Sup with that?

I mean they go all out. Inflate the jungle gym for the kids, have real live bands (lots of horns:|) and stay up till 2-3 in the morning raging up to 100 peeps. Their kids sure are well behaved though. Wearing suit and tie most of the time, never loud and obnoxius like mine when they come over to swim in our pool.

Contrary to popular belief, your skin color/gender/sexual orientation plays a big role in a.) getting promotions, b.) getting a job, and others. While this isn't necessarily true for college sexism and racism are generally rampant and people who don't believe they still exist are just deluding themselves.

No, people aren't getting lynched but when someone calls up for a quote on a mortgage, is quoted a certain amount and then shows up to find the rate magically higher, the job already taken, or the apartment already rented out this is clearly a problem.

That said, the article resorts to massive generalizations and big words to try and get its point across. It isn't as 'racist' as much as it is ignorant and unwilling to recognize difference.

Edit: Can you think of an Asian equivalent to say, Tom Cruise? No, you can't, because none exist. Many Asians are typecast into their roles, contrary to popular belief. Rarely is an Asian or minority actor cast into a primary role where the role wasn't from the beginning INTENDED to be filled by an Asian actor. Have you ever seen a lead minority FEMALE news anchor? Why are they all male. Are there any lead Asian news anchors? (Connie Chung wasn't a lead). Why have all our presidents been White, Christian, males? Racism and racial bias is alive and kicking.

Ok, the names of the U.S. Senators are Daniel Akaka and Daniel Inouye. The name of the Governor is Gary Locke.
The acting list is just to show you that we have some Asian actors/actresses. So much for the statement "...they haven't made a dent".

My points are based on solid facts, not some wildly made up stories, or b.s. hotair.

Well I would expect there to be more Asian politicians in the future, especially as Asians finally start entering law and business instead of mainly science and engineering. However, I'd guess that the overall 'quality' would also decrease by then. I believe that there's also an Indian representative that was recently elected to Congress.

And those Asian actors haven't even made much of a dent at all. John Cho is probably more well known than the first two and he's not even well known. Maybe you should have gone with Lucy Liu or something.

I didn't say those on my list are on the same level as A graded actors such as Tom Cruise/Tom Hanks. Like I said, I just pick them out to show you and others that we do have Asian actors/actresses. Note to you and others, Asian culture don't put much respect on entertainment. I don't agree with it but it is true.

I don't like Lucy Liu. Chow Yun Fat is better, heck even the funny kung fu guy Jackie Chan is better.

Well it surely isn't any sort of significant dent in acting going on here. That's all that I'm saying and I think I would know something about some Asian culture.

Man you people don't get it. As a race, asians (and specifically east asians, if you wanna talk about college apps) are discriminated AGAINST in the top universities across the country, because too many of us get in,

And yet, we make up an insignificant portion of the population. Strange, isn't it? I wonder why, eh?

Keep denying it, people. Just keep telling yourself a steady work ethic induced by cultural means does not make a difference. And guess what - it's the results that matter, not how things start out.

Not racist IMHO. A sad statement about the state of things, but not racist.

Pidgeonholing some members of the population into "Asians" and "Hispanics" are just so idiotic, IMHO.

Within these "Asians" and "Hispanics" groupings there are so many different real ethnic and cultural groups who hold many different cultural values and backgrounds.

This type of generalisation only suits the government's usage of population statistics.

Funny tho, we DON'T NEED affirmative actions just to get in. We did all that by our own selves.

Like I said in my previous post, I didn't see any other minority races in my AP classes while I was in HS.

Man if there was a similiar article written about Asians there would be a god damn uproar across the country. Kind of like when the scrubs at "asian avenue" got enraged at the aliens in Episode 1. Hmmm.. you didn't see Jamaicans getting all pissed.

But whatever you can have your double standard. If someone was to write about the lack of creativity in the Asian community in comparision to other ethnic groups there would be thousands of angry Asians storming around.
