Is there such thing as a safe recreational drug?

It seems likes every month there's a new drug on the market. Drugs that solve your erection problem, regrow hair, correct multiple personality disorders, grow organic monkey wings, etc.. So it seems like it should be possible to create a safe recreational drug.

Or does this already exist

there's no such thing as a safe drug, period.

the reason people use drugs is because the benefits of using them are perceived to outweight the negative side effects.
 
Define safe? Even asprisn(ASA) has very detectibe side effects.

That's why these homephathic groups are so popular.
 
LSD is pretty harmless - in terms of lasting effects.. as long as you're not a girl or a wussy guy.

It takes nearly 5000 doses to actually overdose on LSD.. but I wouldn't recommend more than 200 microdrops. (1/2 - 1 dose)

But, I will warn you, once you take it, you'll never look at things the same. You'll learn a totally new way of looking at things.

It's a neato drug. But, because of today's society, it is considered poisoner than anything else.

Eh.. This is no recommendation to go out and take it. Only know that I have enjoyed it.

Actually THC would be "safer" (in Ansterdam). 😛

It is possible to overdose on caffeine. The fatal dose has been estimated at 10g, which considering that strong coffee contains about 100mg means that someone would have to drink 100 cups of coffee very quickly for this effect.

There is no "reasonable" fatal dose for cannabis (unless it is highly compressed and dropped on your head from a long distance).

Not at all. Caffeine can cause high blood pressure and lead to heart disease. Jeez... it's addictive even, how could you think it was safe?

Safe, however, is a very relative term. I would argue, in fact, that safety does not exist. I doubt that there is anything that could ingest into your body that wasn't at least in some small way harmful. Look at sugar, for example.

Depends how you define "recreation". I consider it a pretty serious chemical...but very enlightening too. Its not something I would broadly recommend...except for the DC water supply, perhaps.

Yeah, marijuana. Its been around for centuries and they have yet to find major problems with it (that is, problems proven by other than US government sponsored research).

No, it's not. As others have mentioned anything can have harmful side effects. Even water can be fatal if taken to excess.
 
Cannabis is as least harmful (no such thing as safe) a recreational drug as you are going to get.
The method of delivery matters of course... smoking ANYTHING is not healthy of course.
But with cannabis you can vapourise it or cook with it to achieve roughly the same effect.

It is effectively impossible to overdose on THC.
There are ZERO deaths in history that can be attributed directly to cannabis.
For every one automobile accident in which cannabis is a reported factor there are 100+ in which alcohol is a reported factor.

Blah blah blah blah blah more pro-cannabis rhetoric and statistics..... there I thought I would save myself, and you, some time and effort.

My point is, despite what your goverment tells you, IF you are going to use a drug recreationally, cannabis is one of if not the least harmful.

At least Canada has some sense when it comes to this subject. 🙂

Life is a side effect...guaranteed to kill you. Advice, enjoy it while you can in a way that makes you most happy without harming others.
