People in arkansas would notice if mississippi stopped existing...

I'm pretty sure nobody would notice if arkansas disappeared.

most of the nothern mountain/plains states wouldn't be missed, like montana, the dakotas, nebraska, etc...

One would suggest that you were in fact, in what can only be presumed to be true New York style, not thinking at all.

Did you just compare AC to Vegas?

i'm sorry but i've never been to either of the two, do either produce something that we'd miss? Not just vegas and AC, new jersey and nevada

1. Most of the gold and silver in the US.
2. Casinos that aren't decrepit.
3. It's not New Jersey. Comparing Nevada to NJ may be the worst insult ever leveled at my state.

Edit: Area 51, Half of lake Tahoe, and Burning Man!

Edit2: And half of Hoover Dam!

Mass, Jersey. There would be a lot less assholes and a lot less terrible fucking drivers.

Pennsylvania. The only thing that I would say is worth anything in this awful state is Philly... and that's not much to brag about.

Keep Missouree.

False. Best BBQ (and the original) is in NC.

KC is BS.

KC bbq is ok...but I prefer the stuff my dad makes at home. Pig Pickin's ftw people.

Maine. Yes they have lobster.. but really.. how good is lobster? It is sort of like diamonds, it would sure be nice to have a bunch of but definitely not worth the price.

I'm in KY, so without us there would be no bourbon

You can make bourbon anywhere. And actually, with Kentucky gone the rest of us would get Kentucky Bluegrass, the Kentucky Derby and "Kentucky Woman" back.

i'm sorry but i've never been to either of the two, do either produce something that we'd miss? Not just vegas and AC, new jersey and nevada

Lose NV and you lose:
Nellis AFB
USAF Air Warfare Center
Nellis AFB Area 2- Area 2 is widely regarded as one of the largest weapons storage sites in the United States.
The UAV Center for Excellence at Creech
Yucca Mountain- where you will be sending your nuclear waste in the future
Area 51
82% of all the gold mined annually in the US
The second largest silver producer, behind Alaska
4th in copper production
One of the top producers of sand and gravel for concrete

I would vote New Mexico (there's nothing there, only 1 city has a population >100,000, they get >$2 in federal tax money for every $1 paid, everything from Roswell was moved to Area 51, no professional sports, etc.) except they've got a poop-ton of oil and natural gas, so instead I vote for New Hampshire.

On the assumption that whatever the state is currently involved in producing would not be moved to the remaining 49 states, you would miss Alabama.

You would miss your Toyota truck engines.
You would miss most of the missile systems in use by the Armed Forces
You would miss a chunk of the space program
You would miss certain Mercedes vehicles
You would miss having your Army and SWAT teams trained in bomb disposal
You would miss eating chicken
You would miss some of your cotton clothing (and anything else made with cotton)
You would miss some really good college football :)
You would miss your pine lumber at Home Depot/Lowe's/etc

Alabama ranks 25th in terms of the national GDP, yet the entire state is less than 5 million in population.

So, what I'm taking from this is that there really isn't anything we'd miss...

Chiles, aliens (both kinds).

Although not as important now, there is also Los Alamos Natl. Labs. Also I would not be able to get rid of states that have a wide variety of parks and forests, and that includes Utah.
