Is the stock AMD heatsink pad toxic?

So I was trying to get the thing off so I could use the heatsink for an amplifier, and I tried brushing it with some toothpaste and brush. Is that thing toxic to the point that I should chuck the toothbrush? It seemed to rinse out pretty well.

Heck, that requires a trip to the store. Besides, I have another one; I just use this one once a day because it has stiffer bristles in order to get the majority of the goop off the ol' teeth; the other one is softer and for the gums in the morning.

So anyway, is it toxic or no??

I dont know but my Dog ate a whole tube of Artic Silver 3 once and she didnt get sick at all (she didnt injest the tube whole, she chewed through it and licked the paste out)

just thought id share that

dude just ask your parents for a new toothbrush!!!!

Some people ought not be allowed to be alone with the family computer!!

Why take the chance? Just get a new one or use the other one. If you really want to try, just lick it off of the hsf.

Is that how you Lap the HSF?😉

I wouldn't try it myself. If you try it remember :camera:'s

Mark your thermal paste one with a permanent marker and get a new one for teeth. :Q Good luck and thanks for the funny.

Yeah, bobsmith1492, its not worth the risk of poisoning yourself.

😱
Just a little harsh don't you think?

hmmm, he stopped posting...don't tell me he didn't take our advice to get a new toothbrush...anyone read the news lately? Heard any deaths caused by toxic thermalpad?

Seriously, I think it is toxic.
These heat pastes often contain very, very small metal or metal oxide particles.
Small enough particles to go straight through the skin, and walls of blood vessles, whatever.
Toxic metals. Particularly in the rather concentrated quantities you could be exposed to.
I believe the general recommendation is to avoid even skin contact with heat paste.
