Well, I don't want to sound defensive or anything, but thanks for ripping into me (coughM4Hcough).... I was just wondering, really; no plans on using the brush again. By the way, it did clean it off pretty well, although I wouldn't use it on a CPU again.

No, I haven't used the brush since. :p

We'll see who's laughing when my 500W amp is up and pumping!

Methinks no one on here can read properly.

Just use the soft brushes, no need to use medium or hard. Most dentists will tell you that. The harder bristles can actually wear through the teeth enamel. Just floss and use a soft brush. Even soft bristles will remove gunk off teeth if you brush regularly.

at lest he didn't use colgate as thermal paste
Toothpaste actually does work as thermal paste, at least until it dries up. Didn't some Australian guy do a thermal paste roundup that included water, vegemite, toothpaste, etc.?

Indeed, through the magic of opening a new browser window and the cooperation of Google, I've found the, ahem, Thermal transfer compound comparison posted at Dan's Data.

oh my god, that's the funniest crap I've read in a long while

I dunno about those Aussies

I've had Vegemite and lutefisk (live in Minnesota, lol) and can tell you with some degree of certainly that while lutefisk (raw cod cured in lye, of all things) is really, really horrible, Vegemite is much worse.

Well, sure toothpaste and Vegemite and anything with water in it will conduct well. Heck, I bet putting pure water between the surfaces would work great, but not for long; it's probably just evaporating under the heat, causing the apparently good heat conduction.

it's not just the heatsink pad. I knew a family that had an AMD chip in their computer and their kids all had mongolism or something.

yes, that stuff is made of pure 100% silver+100% glue+100% mercury. If you touch it, you will get aids, Sars, and the black plague.

This was actually kinda funny.

So, uh, guess AMD chips do give you kinda some protection since Intel chips multitask better?
