I was disturbed when playing the game Medieval II total war
- that my commander had a "catamite"- a gay, young amorous follower in his entourage!
My kickass commander was a frikken gay pedo FFS!
aahahhhahahhahaAAAAA!
I'll never play as the English again!

I thought this would be a funny story about a man masturbating so hard he went blind. And then crazy.

Thats what happens when you don't aim.

D:
Three posts that made me laugh out loud, thanks!

People who lead dull, unrewarding lives will always find something entertaining that is outside of their normal lives to focus on. It could be gaming, porn, even soap operas. Why do you think the reality shows are so popular? Because people who are not imaginative enough to enrich their own lives want to participate in the more exciting lives of others.

Probably, basically no research shows it's a positive influence on one's life.

This thread is just completely pointless. Sex drives men to do irrational things, wow I didn't realize this was a revelation.

It boils down to this: moderation in all things. Food, drugs, p0rn, video games, etc..

If someone is obsessive, they will obsess over something, and there are more than enough things for someone to get lost in. People have to learn self-control from an early age.
this.

On the overuse of the word "addiction": the border between habit and addiction is not clear. Maybe there is none at all?

To a great extent, pornography is a victim of its own success. It was and will always be viewed as outside the boundaries of acceptable/respectable viewing material. In appealing to the outsider mentality, pornography became less and less artistic and more and more graphic while pushing the envelope of societal constraints. Sex acts and choice of partners that were considered perverted became commonplace. Pornography, in order to expand their market and appeal to all kinds of weirdos, has developed a multitude of niche markets which are quite disturbing.

I'm afraid that the genie cannot be put back in the bottle and this obsession with creepy sexual practices will have to play itself out.

Never say again we did not warn anybody for oceans of time in a row.
But nobody ever listens.
We have told over and over again what will happen when people use sex for just sex. Also on this forum.

When a beggar has no food, what will happen to that beggar when he keeps looking into that window of the butcher ? All that nice meat, but the beggar can not touch it...
Will he in time brake that window and take what is not his to take ?
Will he steal life stock in order to forcefully consume ?
Will he continue to cause this suffering upon himself until he breaks down ?
Making him unable or unwilling to earn a living ?

If porn does this, can you imagine how much actual sex desensitizes you?

Not when you are in a relationship willing to commit to each other.
Love acts as a counter effect...^_^
Love sensitizes during activity in the reward system.
It makes people connect to each other. Fusing the separate minds. But only, if you want...

Yes, there is. A 'habit' can be locking the door without thinking when you leave; an addiction is something much stronger.

One type of addiction is chemical; another is something that provides something people want repeated very badly.

Addiction can be all kinds of things. Gambling is a good example; war can be, funny enough.

OCD is neither, such as the 'compulsion' to lock all your doors and worry constantly.
