Is paying people in pennies mean?

I'm picking up an item I'm buying from someone from my school's online forum today. I negotiated the price to $12.42 (42 because it's my lucky number) and am seriously thinking about paying him in pennies just for my entertainment. I even went to my bank yesterday and asked the teller for $12.42 in pennies (he gave me the strangest look ever and he had to get someone to open up the vault because he didn't have that much in pennies hehe). Anyways. My roomie says that it would be evil to pay someone in pennies. Is this true? I'm very tempted... my angel conscious tells me not to.. but the devilish side of me tells me to go for it. Should I still go ahead and pay the seller $12.42 in rolled pennies? If you were the seller, what would you do if you got paid in pennies?
