The irony now is here at work we got, about 6 months ago, a pair of color copiers that have automatic document feeders and that will scan to a PDF. There's a girl here scanning all of her husband's medical school notes... drops a stack in and hits start... 15 minutes later she's got a 200 page PDF.
IF only I'd procrastinated...
BTW, with newer versions of acrobat, you can batch OCR your files. I'd suggest trying a few first to see how it does - OCR can really do a craptastic job if you don't have a clean image to work from, but can sometimes really give a lot of bang for the buck.
