is it possible to make really cheap vodka taste like expensive stuff

What if you filtered the premium vodka? Hmmmmm....................I so happen to have a bottle of grey goose and a brita pitcher.

hmmm interesting....I think you need to experement and document

No go on my drinking experiment tonight. The filter is on it's last legs and I don't have a spare. If I remember to pick up a new filter
tomorrow then I'll do what I must for science.

Too much work, you still get drunk regardless.

true but cheap vodka gives nasty hangovers and tastes like ass

Doesn't give me hangovers... it tastes like ass but if you mix it right you can't taste it. You can take big swigs from the bottle and wash it with Squirt and you can't taste a thing.

hmmm, as a vodka lover, I might have to try this out. Keep the good stuff reserved for parties and then I can have a nice sip every night of distilled five o' clock. Who knew, you can drink five o' clock and not die.

Or so I hope. No time to try this this weekend, but soon.

and where can you buy the charcoal activated filters he mentions towards the end, to layer within a PVC pipe?

He was talking about the Brita cartridge filters that go in the pitchers. The only problem I can see with that is getting a good enough seal around the filter so the vodka just doesn't run around the filter instead of through it.

I may have to give this a shot too.

I guess the construction of the uberfilter will depend on the shape and size of the actual filters. I assume you can get something more disc-shaped than the normal funkily-shaped-trashcan-droid-from-SW pitcher-insert filters?

That was a lot of hyphens. whew.

Does water slip through without getting filtered, also? If not, I don't see how the vodka would do that either.

Probably, but I can't really think of where off the top of my head. If you could just buy activated charcoal in bulk you could design your own filter, but I don't know where to buy that either.

Not in the pitchers designed for the cartridges, but the site was talking about building something out of PVC to hold multiple filters.
