If that is the case, then it is even more strange that you didn't get what he said.

He explained that he felt the financial service industry was way too big for an industry based around creating debt and leveraging. That is all.

Personality wise I think he's a douche and an extreme snob but he's probably the most intelligent of all the political/news comedy types and makes for a hell of an interesting show IMO.

And he's bang on about the credit card industry as I don't think most people realise the kind of stuff that they do. As an example my Visa reduced my limit below my balance few months back and charged me a shitload of penalties, and bumped up my promo rate by 10 fold as a result without any notice. I could list quite a bit more but the issue isn't that they charge a high rate of interest after a while, it is all the deceptive nickel and diming which leads to much higher rates than advertised.

Kudos to Maher, a job well done. One of the two left leaning folks worth watching(maddow is the other). I loved his monologue last night on how worthless obama is since he's done nothing about healthcare, the best part was when he said obama needs to be more like bush - the lefties in the audience gasped, it was hilarious...My favorite part of the show was when he called out the NAACP douche for trying to tie in Troy Davis's plight with the discussion on socialism...


OT, did anyone else notice Larry King's red eye? Hope it's nothing serious.
