I'm discovering that this topic is attempting to be a thought experiment.
Why are these human rights, and how do we define them? It could be a question of finding the specific legal definition, and wondering how that compares to a moral obligation.
It's really not as easy to answer as I had first expected.
If someone says they fall under "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" then we must pause and wonder. We do restrict things, we do strip people of certain actions and "rights". So the real question is, why not these, how / why are these rights protected above others?
Are there legal terms to spell out this distinction?
