Is hill holding with the clutch a bad practice?

Ok so it's not exactly easy to start heel and toe due to pedal heigts, but downshifting under hard breaking while rev matching is fun.

The only time I touch my e-brake is when I park.

I bet I don't even roll backwards an inch, even on a steep incline.. And I drive a 1/2 ton pickup.

Drivers in Europe use this method all the time. If you roll back at all during a driving test there, you automatically fail.

Doesn't feel like it, I don't have a ruler or anything to check with. It really doesn't feel like I roll back at all.

Well, that's easy -- you just roll back very slowly until you are resting on the dumbass' front bumper. Then you don't have to worry about rolling AT ALL when you go to shift into 1st!
