Absolutley. One of the best shows on TV in my opinion. very well acted, many interesting story lines.

I'm surprised they are going to can it, after all the Soprano's is getting canned in April.

I just hope they bring The Wire back for another season. That show is feaking awsome.

Without a doubt. It is fantastic!

And it was "killed" due to the ridiculously high budget.

I read an article in The New York Times about this some months back. I believe they said it cost $4million per episode.

OP: Yes, Rome is worth it. It's an EXCELLENT show. Wanna know another good show on HBO -- Extras. For the life of me, I don't know when the eps come on, though. I catch 'em on but never remember when they played later. Can someone help me with the regular time that it airs as well as the reruns?

There is one more season of The Wire then it's finished.

What the hell is HBO going to air then? They've killed all the good series, The Soprano's, Rome, and the Wire all in the same year.

I might have to kill my HBO subscription then.

Speaking of HBO. Does anyone know what the HBO and Law and Order connection is?
I swear just about everyone from a HBO series(Oz, The Wire, The Soprano's, Sex in the City) either started off on Law and Order or ended up on Law and Order. What's up with that?

One of the best shows on TV, though I think there need to be more orgies 😉 Good acting, excellent story lines, good action etc. Too bad it was too expensive to continue. I wish they would have trimmed the production costs a little and continued the show.

Oh, and there need to be more orgies 😛

I liked it, not as good as Carnivale.

😕
Well, one man's trash is another man's treasure I guess. I thought Carnivale was horrible, but Rome is my favorite show.

Grr first they drop Deadwood, now Rome after 2 seasons. I get hooked on these shows, then they go bye-bye 🙁

They are just clearing the path for the awesome new shows they are working on, such as: GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire and Garth Ennis's Preacher.

Yes, great. Now, that we are watching Octavian instead of Julius, we can find out why they named August after him. Gee, I hate to spoil the plot, but it all has to do with the 8th month or something like that.

All kidding aside, it's a great series.

Absolutely. One of the best series on television... though I have some problems with the dramatic license they take in some areas (painting a saintly woman like Atia as such a vicious bitch, for one)

HBO is making a GRRM show? Will it be a televised version of the books? Will it feature its own characters and stories, or borrow from the books? When is it coming out? Link?

THis is all I have:

Variety reported on January 17th, 2007 that the rights for A Song of Ice and Fire have been sold to HBO with the intent of turning the novels into a television series.[7] Written and executive produced by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the series is expected to cover one novel's worth of material per season. Martin plans to co-executive produce the series and is expected to write one episode per season. The series will be filmed in Europe or New Zealand.
