Definitely possible for malware to be prepackaged. Use safe apk websites and install an android av.

Don't know about that website, but you could always use other safe websites like the amazon appstore, operas mobile store or majorgeeks android section.

Not 100% safe, but Blackberry and Amazon Kindle owners have been using it for awhile to get .apk files that they normally wouldn't have access to. I have never had a problem with it.

I use fdroid almost exclusively. All apps are libre software with source code available. It goes without saying they don't have Skype, but I consider that a feature.

I like the idea of these. I wonder if there's a version of these sites which provides auto-updates as well, similarly to Play.

I dunno. I haven't fooled with this stuff in awhile. A search for "play store downloader" might give useful results.

I don't know about appsapk but I have been useing http://apkpure.com and http://apkplaygame.com for a really long time and both are very reliable, I have never seen any unsafe apk or malware, all apps & games are safe, so I recommend them

I’ve used different sites before and never had issues as long as I checked permissions, especially when using apps to watch live or for live football streaming.
