Get a desktop if you want real computing power. Notebook are for kids. Download Super Pi and run the 1M digits test. Compare the processing time between the two PCs and post here.

Stop smokin da C pipe. The last few years, laptops have been quite impressive. often rivaling desktops of equivalent specs.

Nice personal dig ahole. There is no way a Turion gets beat by a Pentium-M bt 10 to 1, and you know it.

well no crap they rival desktops of the same specs. Only probelm is they cost alot mroe for thsoe same specs, and there aint any way to get a high end processor into a laptop. I don't exactly see any FX60 laptops, deffinitely no prayer in hell of getting a PentiumD in the thing. Also you get the graphics cards way underclocked. Anyone buying a notebook for pure processing pwoer is getting a very crappy performance/price comapred to a desktop

OP's story sounds like compelte FUD, sorry. There's a reason why we run benchmarks on tech sites instead of going by vague testimonials.
I'd like to see the origin of this text that was "copied and pasted from the web".

The fact that duvie is implying intel's official involvement in that insanely ridiculous internet tale is pretty hilarious. Is that your definition of "viral marketing"?
Nice links by the way:
http://www.amdboard.com/pintospecial.html
And a bunch of irrelevant links about intel compilers not being friendly for AMD processors... as if that were illegal. HAHAHA. Maybe intel should sue GNU for not making gcc P4 friendly.
I say FUD...Intel faster??? Perhaps...10:1??? No way.. However we all know how INtel does crooked business...hence as in stated in AMD lawsuit...
