It isn't itself illegal. Sure some of the things they do/post there are and can be illegal but the site itself is legit. Basically it's a pseudo forum where people post images and comment on them etc. Just don't piss /b/ off.

Well you guessed right. Sometimes you have spammers posting crap like "go here, save this file, rename to 4chan.js and run it" and of course it's a virus. It's so fucking obvious but when it first started I remember they had a huge flashing warning at the top of every page telling people not to do that because apparently some idiots did.
