Definately not. You can get a better quality HDTV for less money, and it won't irritate you as much. Plasma tvs are definately not worth their money. Go into your Best Buy and shake one and you'll know what I mean.

but in areas where space is a value commodity, these are a godsend. I'm thinking of one for my living room abve the fireplace, since its a relatively small room and then i could dump the ugle entertainment center.

I would agree, but $3K is still pretty steep!

not when it buys you a lifetime, no questions asked warranty from costco ;)

reviews from the link on T$chbargains.com shows this to be a pretty bad monitor. I would be more tempted to save the money and get a nicer Panasonic.

I was looking at getting a philips (I think it is a philips anyways) plasma screen instead, I think it's 54 inches. I'll probably just end up getting a big screen HDTV in the 60 inch area. If you use coupons, and look around, you can probably pick one up for 2K or less. Now thaT I think about it, at this time, it's better to wait at least a year to get a new TV, as plasma tv's are new to the market, so there will be alot of changes. It's like CD Burners, I remember when I get ripped when I bought my first HP 8X CD burner, I paid like $250 and the next week there was like a $100 price cut, lol.
